seeing as im probably never going to get hold of an ion based board, i think this is the next best thing, for an upcomming project.

Next best? I'd call this one better!

I haven't been checking out Ion boards recently, but last I checked you didn't have a 2 or 4 core option plus PCI-E on a M-ITX board.

On the other hand, if they do...where do I sign?

Great. I was torn between a J&W Minix and the Intel DG45FC and then I saw this one. :wallbash:
Price is better than the J&W and at first glance it appears better specced for what I want it for. Small dimensions, ability for HD playback, 5.1 audio etc. Was going to be a scratch build acryl/alu case but the wife wants some new furniture so wood could be the way ahead now (chest of drawers!). Compromises keep a relationship good and allow me to buy what I want. Glad I ordered all that acrylic though.:eyebrow:
But I hope the review says it's a good one as I've pretty much made my mind up and could do without going back to square 1!

Thanks for the pic FIBRE+. What has me concerned is that the audio rise is the old school stereo variety. Line IN, Line OUT, and Mic. At least that's what it looks like. Hopefully the review will address this. I'd hate to lose the only expansion slot to a sound card, would much prefer an ugraded graphics card. :D

    It's basic 6 channel audio + S/PDIF.

I'd use the S/PDIF or a USB soundcard tbh

heh thanks for that and apologies for the pressure of deadlines:D
sated with wood and metal shopping instead anyway now. I'm pretty much decided on the Zotac now and I've got the dimensions to plan with so I'll stop fretting!
