I find it demotivating that we found enough demotes to get to 404 pages of it... Intelligence not found

I hope that's some kind of joke, otherwise I'm seriously demote.
Here's why that's BS (sorry for shoddy edit)

The best part is that the 'controller' can be used for other games like shooters. I wonder what the control for fire would be.... :D

Also, apparently it uses occulus rift.

Ya know, the nuke won't kill anyone either, not unless a person presses a button. The weapon is just a tool- it's the mindset ( culture ) that is the issue....

Whether or not the weapon is capable of killing by itself doesn't matter, the whole gun-discussion was never about that. What I meant to say with my edit was that you can justify any possible weapon with this (false) reasoning, just replace “gun” with X and you can fill in everything from white phosphorous to soman to the Tsar Bomba itself. Does that mean it wouldn't hurt if there was a can of VX in every home (“it's just a tool”)?
Even if it seems right within the context of just the words themselves, you can't practically use this to “prove” anything.
(I don't want to get mixed up in the gun-debate, I just wanted to show that this kind of thinking is misleading and false)

Tools should be used and kept appropriately. Keeping a small nuke or can of VX at home is pointless - just like you wouldn't have an industrial press, or a robotic spot-welder there either.

In the end the choice to kill is with the person, if you have to limit the tools to try and minimize how easy it is for them to express their stupidity then so be it.

Once again the Hypnotoad speaks the truth… :)
Though I guess the first part is a matter of opinion, since I'd personally consider a gun as much “specialized equipment” as an industrial press (as in “only professionals who need it, have it”). Seeing it as a simple household tool when living in a safe, civilized environment seems a bit frightening to me.
(also I didn't mean to imply that guns are even anywhere near WMDs, of course they aren't, I was using reductio ad absurdum (don't know the english term for that…))

The second part I agree with 100%.

I would say they are a specialised tool, but that doesn't mean no-one should own one - like a lot of hobbies, the tools and equipment can be very dangerous if used improperly.

In the UK we have a large community of game-shooters in this country, many of them with several shotguns each and yet our gun murder rates are incredibly low. I don't think there is a problem with a society having access to firearms, providing the correct controls and attitudes are maintained - something that has (imo) got out of hand in the US. Just look at Switzerland; they have one of the highest per-capita gun ownerships in the world (quite a long way behind the US I might add), yet one of the lowest murder rates. Gun ownership is widespread, but done responsibly.

Anyway, enough gun control nonesense - demote me!
