Sorry, but did you read what I wrote? I mean actually read and think about it, not just glance over and instantly dismiss. I addressed exactly the point you're trying to make.
The reason why no one's complaining about He-Man's appearance is because his appearance does not matter to anyone. You can't just say both are exaggerated therefore they are equal. As I showed, Barbie and He-Man are fundamentally different below the surface.
The appearance of the Generic Male Cartoon Hero matters very little, their actions are what make them special, what inspires and ultimately makes them a role model to some. That's why they don't work as a comparison to Barbie, who is admired only for her "perfect beauty". Young boys don't want to grow up to look like He-Man, Lion-O or Raphael. A lot of young girls however, do want to look like Barbie when they're older. (that's why Barbie having an impact of women's self-image later in life doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me)

If you can show me even a single male role model idolized by millions of young boys exclusively for his looks, then I will admit that you are completely right. This is the only valid, equal comparison you could make to Barbie.
If there is one, then yes, it would absolutely be wrong of "feminists" to complain only about the portrayal of women.

The belittling tone does not help your argument. If you're trying to convince someone of your point of view, you should treat them with the same respect as those who already agree with you.
You haven't shown why any of my reasoning was incorrect, you merely dismissed it as "not being the point" (and I strongly disagree with that).

Could be fun attached to a Strandbeest-like construction I think.

If if makes you feel any better I don't offer my seat to women or let them out of my way easier. #equality

Edit: was a bit ride but basically move on.

I don't really get what the point of your first sentence is, but you're absolutely right. I'll shut up now, the demote thread is no place for this kind of discussion. I'm lured into a debate far too easily. ;)

    On with the demotes! :)

You want demote? This is demote.

We didn't have this extremist **** back in the 80's. It's as if ISIS has set up a caliphate in the computer games world. I want my hobby scene back, damn it!

The most demotivating thing to happen on this forum. So sad.

This is almost too demote to be in the demote thread.

    FTFY

This actually saddens me more than the recent passings of Kasey Kasem and Robin Williams.

Tumblr is still freaking out about those two.

what's with the whole Minecraft thing anyway? Seems like everyone's crazy about this game.

My 6 and 8yr old nephews are crazy about this too and when I picked it up for 20 min just to learn about it, i promptly put it down. Couldn't stand the ugly graphic or lack of.... everything.

Yes, I love Lego and being creative. (Just bought a Ghostbuster Ecto-1!) But putting it on a screen seems..... bleh.

I don't get how the creator can be that successful. Would that many people cry if Microsoft decided to destroy it tomorrow? Aren't there tons of other games out there?

    Same thoughts here, beaver.

Minecraft never appealed to me. I much prefer games with decent graphics, and well, you know, a STORY, characters, and a leveling scheme that actually makes me want to play. Minecraft has none of that. Well, not last I checked it didn't.
