I suspect that, like many fraudsters, he got too greedy so, he made his activities conspicuous instead of staying under the radar.

I’d be surprised if he was stupid enough to offer it as a service to others and got caught that way.

It woz the bots wot dunnit.

Pumping out algorithmically generated trash is one thing… Ever since “lofi girl” got really popular, there have been are dozens of YouTube channels pushing out low-effort crap for years; they might not have been using generative algorithms in the past (although they almost certainly are now), but what they produce is so formulaic and generic that you could script it…

But using bots to manipulate people the number of streams is almost certainly going to get you caught. This is what takes it well beyond “morally dubious and legally questionable” and well into “bloody blatant fraud”.

Talking of royalties, a musician called Martyn Ware has just told Rockstar Games to ‘go **** yourself’ for offering him $7,500 to use his music for GTA 6

Given how big a franchise GTA is and, how well it sells, he was right, Rockstar were taking the p!ss.

Turns out that's not even enough - there's a setting you have to toggle too!

How desperate is Google getting? There's a dedicated Gemini app, why does it have to be in Messages too?!

    EDIT:
Christ, even that doesn't get rid of the buggering thing!

Stogursey Arts Trust, in Stogursey near Bridgwater in Somerset, has opened an exhibition of pictures depicting local village life. This one, however looks like it belongs in Royston Vasey, the Local shop for local people...
