I never say OMG but I would say oh my god.
I couldn't care less about religion it's just something I was kinda brought up saying or heard it around me.
I hate when people use OMG or lol. (As in actually say lol, when you are talking to them)

I don't use OMG, but 'Oh My God' I do.

As far as I'm concerned it's just a phrase, the same as exclaiming 'Jesus Christ' or 'Holy f***ing S**t'

@Murraynt: I do catch myself saying LoL now and then, or if I'm reading something funny I'll mumble it.

I sometimes replace "God" with "Goodness" but that's for politeness sake rather than any religious reason.

I never say it, I'm regularly found saying "Oh Your God" like Bender from Futurama though...

I don't give a rats arse about offending relgious folks.
As most the time They are happy to "spread the word" and subject me to thier twaddle, I am just as happy to spread my word, namly Jesus and God are a work of fiction and have no relevence to any sane person.

I don't like relgion. And I'll let people know it if they ask or start on the topic.

I would say "oh my god", same way I would say b@stard.
It has no relevence to the perantage of the said person or item, just as oh my god has no relevence to god. It's an expletive because it is mildy offensive to some.

But in all honesty it's just words.

I work with EBD kids.... I hear things like "shaged your dead nan" or "you're a peado" quite often. They're just words. When words are said to be offensive, to me they lose the real meaning and thus are no longer offensive.

As for OMG or LOL, I use LOL to myself as I might say to myself "thats funny" But OMG has no meaning as a word to me. It may do one day, but I don't use OMG in my posts so I doubt it.

well, like everyone, I dont say OMG... but neither "Oh my God", tho I do say "DIOSSS" or "aaave Maria omee" (means something like "holy mary dude") lol, even tho I only use them when joking or something, its not my normal reaction to something awesome or shocking or whatever.

But its just because they are expressions you learn thru your life that you use them, your parents use them and everything so you just grab them, no mather what you believe in

I'd go with either Terry Pratchett style ("Ye Gods!") or Spanish ("Madre de Dios!") for extra emphasis.

I am also partial to a bit of 'Jesus-H.-tapdancing-Christ' although I'm not sure what the H stands for.

    Sweet zombie Jesus!

If anything, people that believe in God shouldn't use God's name in that way.
From an atheist point of view, it's just an idiom. I say lots of things that don't mean what they literally mean, just because they have slipped into common usage.

    I say "Oh my God"

I only said OMG as in a word, I find it embarrasing aswell as Cheesecake i sometimes say For the win

Nobody understands me so then i follow by 10 minutes of awkward explanation why i am such a nerd

I say "ZOMG" out loud jokingly when exaggerating a point.

other than that, I use the "JISSIS" found in Afrikaans (though spelled differently), meaning "Jesus". I belive the Dutch ahve something similar. the thing with JISSIS is that it can be hisses beautifully when, for example being cut off by some d*ckwad in an Audi: "YISSSISSSSSSS".

I alo use the afrikaans word for god, because it's got a harsh sound and can be said angrily well.

Oh my god is not something I use a lot. I say "holy ****" rather...
