If your not playing in pre made teams its very much the above, When your 2-3 people in a group it does gain some team play elements.
I actually have it I just never played it due to illness. The game is popular but doesn't look all that interesting to me. It looks too situational.
I've been forcing myself to play it cos it's free and lots of my friends play it, but I still don't get it. I'm yet to find it fun. I quite like Sombra, but it's too soon after she got released and everyone wants to play her. I wish I could understand the appeal...
Shockingly I'm actually quite liking the new Arcade mode for this event. Probably because it's PvE with objectives so there seems to be less salt around.

To be honest I'm not sure how this match making works. I did my placements yesterday, going from 2633 last season to 1553 somehow. I was 7 wins 3 loses in placements, going 5W - 3L - 2W, I don't understand how I lost so much.
To be honest, if you learn to stop caring about that magic number and just focus on enjoying the game, it's so much better (and you'll probably play better too). Only reason I wanted to get back to diamond this season was the extra competitive points (and maybe a little bit of having been diamond every season). Does seem like a pretty odd thing to happen though. Although take solace in the fact that you should be able to blast through your next 20 games or so if you're even reasonable competent with any of the DPS heroes.
