Depends how big the images are but a simple little web compressor like this will let you adjust quality when reducing size, alternatively the images can be opened in Photoshop and saved as a JPG with compression too.

edit: happy to try and help with Photoshop if the above doesn't work for your needs.

Whenever I've needed to reduce images for emails or websites I've always used GIMP.

Iirc it was pretty straightforward saving an image to a smaller file size.

Open source too so free to use.

If you're on your phone it's easier to either screenshot the photo, or WhatsApp it to yourself.
    Both reduce the file size.

For general basic photo editing on desktop I like XnView MP.

Adjusting the size (in pixels) of the image and/or the level of jpeg compression is what you want.

If you upload your photos then scroll down the page a little you can see a slider on the right hand side to adjust the quality of the image then you can download it.

Feel free to send me a PM (or upload the images here) with the images you need to be 6mb and I can send them back.

Gimp is decent, and free :)
Doesn't windows have a built in resize option when you open a photo if you right click? I could be wrong?
