Got it! Lost my original CD's so had to get a copy on GOG, is pretty much what I signed up for.

However not played it yet as spent most of last night updating with all the community patches and widescreen mods, etc..:

Yes! - GET IT. Support GOG!

If this doesn't cure people of their butthurtness about GOG's publicity stunt then they're just whiny bitches. Planescape: Torment released DRM-free with support for XP, Vista and 7 in 32 & 64-bit - Who ever expected that before GOG showed up?

Still have mine in its original box, one of the best RPG's ever released.

Haven't tried to install on Win7 x64 yet, although I have it on Vista 32 bit

Tbh, I think most people's problem has been the very few good games on the site, it seemed as if they were just releasing anything they could get a licence for. They have got some real classics recently though and timed their publicity stunt to cash in on that, and well played to them. Baldur's Gate, Planescape and Fallout are all required reading in my eyes, and I hope they do well. As an added bonus, maybe the big boys will take note of an anti-DRM company making money.

Got the novel with the original game. It was a good story too, well worth a read.
Roll on Pay-day so I can pick this up again.

    That gives me shivers!
Don't play it thinking about the the battles. Even the magic spells being one of the most interesting animations ever.

Focus on the history itself. Pay attention on "Deionarra's" history. Prolly the most touching history in a game EVER.

Again, the best history EVER! More than 1 million words in the plot as one of those magazines said back in the day...

This is something I'd like to try, but I fear I'd have trouble adjusting to its "age". :worried:

Single most overrated RPG by RPG gamers. Nostalgia is the great blinder it seems. Its a good game yes, not the pinnacle of RPG's hardcore gamers try and make it out as.

Why do you think it is so overrated? I can't think of too many other RPGs that have as strong a story or writing, or characters you actually care about. It could be argued that it is short, but I'd take quality over quantity any day.

I don't know if going back to any of the "good old games" is ever a good thing, they had their time and PS:T certainly kept me busy for a considerable time, though I never went on to complete it, I loved the Planescape setting and had the complete AD&D rule set for it back in the day.

Times have moved on and as much nostalgia as the game has held, I tried it on XP a number of years ago and just could not get past the low res graphics to make it truly enjoyable so uninstalled it, packed it up and tucked the box away.

If they ever released a sequel or even just an updated version with the same quality and extensive story as the original then I would be interested, otherwise, best just to leave it be and let the dust stay settled.

    How dare you?
*Grabs a nearby chair to see it flying*

Now seriously, it IS the best history ever. I have to admit the playability isn´t great. It´s like playing the best book ever made.
