    PSX? Wasn't that used to refer to the original Playstation?

    Wow... That thing looks sweet. I think I'll get one and pass the PS2 on to my significant other.

    Great stuff. Hope it doesn't have a whopping price tag.

    The PSX wasn't designed or developed by SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment), rather the main Sony brand (TV, DVD players). Its one of the reasons that it looks nice but those looks will come at a very high price.

    BTW its name isn't PlayStation 2.5 it is in fact PSX :eek: and shouldn't be confused with SCE PS1 codename ;)

    I'm guessing it'll cost more than a 120gig drive anyway. Probably a lot more by the time it reaches the market.

    True, but I'm assuming with it being a Sony (not SCE) it won't be. Don't get me wrong, Sony make some NICE kit, but their prices are generally high. As someone said "Sony are the Apple of the PC world". They make well designed, high-quality hardware, pack it with software you can't possibly get anywhere else and then charge you more than the competition :p

    Wow, Sony have been busy lately. They've got:

    PS2 revised (quieter, inc. remote etc. Japan only so far)
    PSX (PS2 with all the gadgets mentioned in the thread)
    PS3 (2005? maybe)
    PSP (PlayStation Portable. From the tech specs I just read in a magazine, it looks pretty powerful. Plus, the LCD screen will be widescreen (16:9) :rock: )

    Anyone else think Sony are rinsing the Playstation name for everything it's worth? :D

    Possibly, but as far as I can see, all the stuff so far under the PlayStation name has been pretty good. As long as they don't just start releasing tat under the name it's all good :)

    If the PSP is marketed correctly and priced well it will rip the hell out of Nintendos profits.

    Oh and DVD quality films are coming out the PSP as well :D
