    Hi
I have a strange issue with my power options, in so much that they keep defaulting back to 'Balanced'

I change them to 'High Performance' and configure it as i want (ie doesnt go to sleep, monitor doesnt turn off, all the USB and LAN stays powered)
This works fine until i reboot my PC, then it is back in 'Balanced' mode.

Not sure if it has something to do with the Asus AI Suite (i have a Gene IV board) but i cannot find any settings that would override this on a reboot

    Any thoughts please ?
    Thanks in advance.

These are just profile names. You can create one "ULTIMATE MAXIMUM POOOOOOWWEERRR!!!!" If you so choose to have one.

So you can configure Balance the way you want, matching High Performance one.

But I must disagree with this move. There is no performance loss in using Balance, you are just wasting power, increase system heat, exactly how it was in XP and older days.

The main issue I have is that my G15 keyboard screws up if the system goes into power save. If I leave my desk it i turn my monitor off anyway (the graphics card throttles itself)
My hard drives are SSD, so they don't spin down at all.

I'll try that technet link tomorrow
