Scratch Build – In Progress Project: C&C GDI War Factory (*New Video*)+ Ion Cannon (August MOTM)

I have an idea for a temporary fix of the hexagon things that would take very little time at all, if you were to get a small amount of hexagon mesh (eg chicken wire/anything with large holes) and then cut it in to small strips (about 1-2 hexagons deep and the circumference you need it) cut as many strips as you need and then attach it using a kind of telescopic movement.
I hope you understand what i mean =P

 

That's a good idea, but I am cutting it too close to the LAN. I thought about basketball netting, but couldn't find what I needed. If I had more time and would have thought about it earlier.... I won't have the time to go get the material and make it. There have been several really good ideas for making the center telescope go upward, but I just don't have the time to work on it either. I still have parts of the main structure that I have to get done. Plus with everything else going on... But, after the lan, I will continue to work on it.

Thanks for the vote! I need every vote that I can get! Plus, I mod on a budget. So, some extra goodies wouldn't hurt.

 

I was able to add more details to the Ion Cannon and spend extra time modding on the way up to the lan. I am going to show the pictures of my final set-up and then I will go back and fill in some of the missing parts (hopefully in the next few days). Anyone mod on the toilet? You’ll get it when I post pics.

As I was doing a test fit and run of my entire setup I soon realized all the wires didn’t fit out the small opening in the back. Luckily I was the prepared modder and I brought my handheld dremel with me. But, since I was at a hotel, I didn’t have anywhere to cut a new larger hole. So… got the smart idea to mod it in the bathroom. Yes, I am sitting on the toilet, but I am not “on” the toilet. Put on one of the free t-shirts and started to cut a larger opening on my case. As you could imagine, the noises coming from the bathroom were…lets say not very pleasant. Everything worked out great and was easy to clean up.

I showed the topside of each of these flaps. I wanted to complete the look, so I added this pattern to the underside




Cut it to size and glued it on. Then added the white border.
