Hi there this is the first post in the project jupitor modd. the name comes from the case i bought from maplin. its a full atx jupitor case and its a beast. It is as tall as my computer desk. It has lots of protental for modding it has stacks of room inside and nice big side pannels to add a window into. Looks like i am going to get busy . This is the case i will post some of my own pics soon i just dont have the time to take any at the moment. i have got alot planned for this case but i am not revealing exactly what yet. give me your feed back of ideas aswell so i can see if i can squeez them in at a later date. more posts soon!!!
That case just cries out for a watercooling setup and some paint. Ohh and why is there a golf ball stuck to the front
haha yer it dose look like a golf ball. I have never ventured into watercooling befor and you guessed that i was gona paint it. i think i am going to do it all black. No there is no hdd caddy behind the front bottom. it is an air vent outlett i am mounting an 80m fan behind it and another 4 blue led 80m fans in various places around the case. all the fans will then be connected to a fan bus which i am gona make and there will be multicoloured led's and toggle switches mounted in the front of the case so i know whitch fans i have on and at what power setting. anyways there will be more pics put on of monday or tuesday next week when i got my case from my job and my delivery with parts has arrived. more posts soon
I've looked into buying this case many a time... There is no caddy/ies anywhere in this case... and the golfball... is the reason I haven't got one yet... that unsightly designer deathworthy thing... is the power button...
Well then it's a great spot to munt the radiator below the drive bays and get a nice 120mm blowing frigid air on the beast.
while this case may have a high quality chassis, the bezel looks like an abstract drawing. redo it in plexy with alu behind the plexy(thin 0.1mm alu flashing would work)
Oh, replacing the bezel is a must. And make sure you get a nice big hole for your 120mm radiator fan.
the point of me getting this case is to rip it to bits and get modding. the golf ball button is getting replaced i am thinking of making my own with blue plexy and placing a blue LED in the center of it inside the plexy. in my first modd i sprayed my old case front silver. now me being the clever person that i am i did not spray the laqure on after. the result a case that marks like hell every time you touch it . so this time i will not make that mistake. that small pannel where you can mount a manufacturer logo unclips out the front of the case so i will be making a blue plexy pannel then i will be etching a design into it and mounting led's behing it. i have got alot of ideas and i am photoshoping the pic of the case to try show you what it will look like. more posts soon
Dude sort the pic, stealing bandwidth from another site is a here. Other than that. What a nice idea to put holes in the bottom so it can keep you floor clean and eating small rodents... as well as holding you PC of course
yer sorry about the steeling pic i will update it when i get home. i am in college now so no can do. i need some ideas for this case give me some i cant think of out else to do apart from things i am keeping secret
Definateley put a 120 on the front and a 120 on the top even if air cooling, i think many would agree 120's are better than 80's as the y can push the same air at a fraction of the noise level. Aint much else i can think of, window etc, that about it.
If it hadn't been for the golf ball and the "bump" on the lower bezel, it would have been fine. You could however make a new bezel. I think the technique used by Hippo in his project beige-be-gone looks great for making a new bezel. Brushing off the paint, or painting the panels is also a must.
right here are the pics of the case that i prommised. pic 1 As you can see the stupid ugly little pannel just unclips so that is off in the bin. pic 2 Well not much can be said about this pic appart this is the room i have inside the case o and we had better not forget the PSU. pic 3 Plenty of room this case just offers so much room for modding. pic 4 This is the side of the window and can you guess what i am going to do with those holes!!! pic 5 and then this is my window design. i will be cutting it out this weekend. so there you go now you know what this case is like inside and out and i have shown you my window design. please give me feedback. thanks for the replies so far and i will be reveiling more of my secrets soon [IMG]http://www.angelfire.com/electronic2/nuttymodding/casefront.jpeg
