Is the socket that you plug in your AC-DC adpater isolated from the case? Whatever is hitting you shouldn't be volts striaght from the socket. Plug your multimeter into the earthed prong of a power socket and put it on the case to see what voltage is going through it. Then you might get a better idea of where to look. :EDIT: If you're not strapped for cash, you could pick up a picoPSU to eliminate the larger exposed PSU. I hope that the 120W it can supply is enough to run the 2 HDDs, board, and processor you have. Plus it's one less thing that will need adequate cooling since those picos are crazy efficient (95% IIRC). You might need a 1 male -> 2 female molex adapter though because I think the pico only has 1 molex plug in it.
I bought a 16mm holesaw from Rapid for connectors (£4.11 without arbor) but it's a bit nasty on thin aluminium. I'm wishing I'd paid an extra 82p for a hole punch, they make much cleaner holes.
I bought that 16mm, it's not that bad as long as you drill a pilot hole. The PSU plug IS isolated from the case and I just tested it and it is reading 0. must be the vibrations of the fans. If anyone know's where I can get some "industrial" metal buckles, the sort they have on pushchairs or suitcases, I'd like to know.
(you'll have to scroll down a little) Click on each picture for the place I found them, but I believe these are US located stores.
The Silver one, musch better, the metal is cool and sleek while the gild looks like it came from a saxophone case.
Pretty sweet bindi, i still dont understand the push switch on the front that isnt the power button, the little black one. What does it do? I do like the plug for the network in the back though, very innovative!!
That's on the back, and that's the power plug, CH. Or if you mean the hole underneath the push switch, that's just a hole that was already there. You're meant to screw in a, well, screw to hold the lid on.
does this help? You might need to ctrl+f5 For my next trick, I want to get some of those latches for the edge to hold the top down, and cut a hole in the RHS for ventilation. Perhaps using something like this: http://www.mnpctech.com/VGAVent.html
Nice collection of fingerprints you have there Bare metal looks cool but is terrible in terms of keeping it clean.
Looks great. Anyone know where I could get an aluminium box like this in the US? I've been looking for a while and can't seem to find anything that's the correct size.
