good work on the psu. And the frontpanel as well
five stars from me...
Awesome front panel! Great work bas, *subscribed*
thats a really great control panel. and a very good methode to hide all cabels
i have nothing to say but wooooooooowwww! truly amazing. The front panel is very neat. Kudos to the keypad, i rikes!
Thanks for all the nice reactions and my first stars
Indeed it is really big, but it will be very easy to seperate both cases as they are only connected with some screws.
And the wire connections that wil be between the cases will not be permanently soldered but with connectors for easy disconnecting, but even then both will be heavy, a empty stacker is allready about 18kg.
I don't know how much phasechange weighs? but how heavy was your case?
I'm of to do some modding
Regards, Bas van der Werff.
Today i made a first design in sketchup of the window layout.
First i'll show the designs and after that give some explanation to go with it.
The red parts are meshX, i actually designed meshX in sketchup but i didn't put it in place because of two reasons.
1 Even the small parts seen behind the grill make it very slow to work with, because the model allready contains about 125563 edges and 6524 faces and that slows stuff down.
2 The holes are only visible when i zoom in very close, so it has no use for the picture, the mesh behind the grill also shows up like a flat black surface, actually it was a lot of work for nothing
But back to the design...
As you can see on the left 2 nice big windows to show the "guts" of the systems and 2 meshX "windows" because i didn't want the real window that big but i still wanted something there.
On the right another 2 meshX "windows" with the project name on them probably the letters will be polished aluminium or stainless steel.
The dark grey parts you see next to the letters are the standard perforated pieces in the side panel possibly some meshX behind them to or just some smoked plexi.
Any sugestions on the design of the windows are very welcome because there are no cuts made jet so everything is still possible.

p.s. can anyone tell me how to close a poll?
i think it works with the style of the mod but why not have multiple windows gimme a few mins and ill av a go at it in paint or something! bak in a few mins
i dunno just something random! thats just an idea!
I like the way it looks but i can't make this for the left side because the stacker allready has a big round hole in that side when you buy one (check out the picture in my first post)
Maby i'll use it for the other side thanks for the idea also a question for you in what kind of shop did you get that nice mesh you have? i really like it.
lol a hardware store homebase over here in england. if you cant find any you could allways send me some money and i can go get you some and send it over to you.
plus it only cost lkike £6!!! lol its a sheet 50x25cm if you were wondering
Bas you can probably get that mesh in a car tuning shop as well, ask for 'racegaas'.
looking good, that keypad really turned out great
Hey Bas, very nice work with the PSU and Front panel!
Keep up the good work!
Indeed now you mention it i'll go take a look first thing tommorrow, its not for this project but for an other smaller one i'm designing right now
All guy thanks for the reactions, tommorrow i'll go make a start on the windows.
Regards, Bas van der Werff.
those windows gonna look pwetty good
this thing is going to be pretty tall..
I hope so right now i'm masking up the sidepanels
Indeed it is 110cm high at the moment but thats without feet.
lol 110cm. damn... that is nifty!
hehe in progress!
looking very nice,i love huge cases,i have very large hands and it's very hard for me to work in small cases. unless the mobo tray slides in and out.
