The eject buttons and activity LED's are being relocated to the front panel of the case itself , with some kind of quick disconnects to allow the drives to be removed.
Looking very nice I was thinking of doing something along those lines, although I was planning to attatch all drivers to one plate and then suspend the whole thing. With all the drives in and the elastic tight, does it bow much?
The bottom closes a bit yes, but the sides are strong enough when the bottom is braced. Once they are bolted into the case they will be strong enough for me to make the elastic tighter.
but then the top of the metal sheet will bend over as an arch, have you found a way to eliminate this?
I can vouch for the hdd cage working. The metal doesn't bend and despite my best efforts the hdds wouldn't slip out either thanks to the tension in the elastic.
What software are you using to drive the Noritake 311????? And was it a pain in the butt to wire up??? I can buy these for $16 US all day long, and was wondering if they were good displays or not. Since you have one, can you give me your view on the display and if it is worth a crap or not?? Thanks in advance. BTW, great case, big and shiny!!! lOLOLOLOL
Im using lcdinfo to run the 311 as stated earlier in the thread I bought it prewired from a guy on the forums here.
OT: I also have the Noritake 311 and LCDinfo to drive it. Coorz is your man for LCDinfo help. Can take a while to get used to but it's worth it in the end.
Here is a suggestion for you: Use one long piece of elastic instead of multiple pieces. Just weave it back and forth. This would clean up the tied ends considerably as you would only have two loose ends instead of 6 or more.
I thought about doing that, but it would be too difficult to poke through. (theres about 2.5m in that hdd caddy iirc). Once the caddies are in the case and the knots tied i can cut off the excess and it will look neater.
Great work so far.....I like the idea u had to mount the Hard Drive, and I love the all metal case with the punched pin! One question (I don't want to annoy you too much with that...but I just HAVE to know....it's TOO SWEET), did you used a samurize config allready done for the ps1 lcd or you did it yourself? Would you mind sending it to me? btk100@hotmail.com (or link it here....or only by the name if it's already been post on samurize...I looked but couldn't find it)! Thanks!
I made it myself, its only a simple one. I had a quick look but couldnt find it, I'll have another look tomorrow for you.
Started making the faceplate for the psone lcd, pics are of various stages of destruction: Lots of sanding and a little filing left to do.
Nice update dude, have you tested fited the PSOne screen yet? Also how is it going to be retained? (Bolts, screws etc?).
