wow franklin you are a really good artist!!!! you'd be good at engraving if you found the right tool!

if your artistic im sure you wont find it THAT hard to airbrush, the main problem is having the artistical talent to think on the spot while you airbrush.

i plan on getting myself some airbrushing gear, because spray paint cans are getting boring :p plus ive got a nice compressor :p so thats half of it sorted

JFK.. Excellent hand Franklin..If you can draw that well, it will not be difficult to move your ability to the airbrush..

    Pre-Update

I need 4" long-6/32 (or metric equalivant) stainless steel hex-head bolts to custom mount the Hiper PSU..None of my three favorite webstores have anything longer than 3"..So, I plan to use machine screws, mounted from inside the case and finish the install off with stainless acorn-nuts (you know these):

I did shoot two coats of clear on the units in question:

    ready to go:
I have high-hopes to get the PSU, PCI covers and exhaust fan (with it's AC grill ) installed this weekend. That would finish off the back-side of the case. I should have have all the hardware I need:

    Update late Saturday or Sunday..

Why not just use 6-32 stainless steel threaded rod and use the cap nuts you already have?

That's what I did. Needed a custom length and ran down to Home Depot and bought a couple of 4' rods of 6/32 and cut it to length. Used a Dremel to do the cutting for clean ends and fit. Tried end nips and a file and could not thread the acorn nuts on.

Well the trick of it is to thread a couple of nuts towards the middle of the piece you want to cut. Then you cut to size and dress with file. Last you unscrew the nuts on the end(s) you cut. This recuts the threads so all is proper and it works great. :hip:

Indeed, that is the trick to cut threaded rod or shorten bolts. Yesterday I managed to get the Hiper PSU to fit into the case..Not as straight forward as I would have liked and there maybe more changes to come for that area of the case..
I need to resize & upload the pictures (tonight) and with post tomorrow.

    Hiper PSU install:

First off, a bit of history. In order to use the "way-cool" Hiper PSU
    [IMG]
I needed to allow about 3" of the unit hang out the back of the case. The Hiper is a deep PSU, and would "interfere" with the top mounted Innovatek reservoir if installed in it's stock location.
The answer was to use an old LL (cut down) PSU mounting plate.
So, the first order of business was to cut out the cases stock PSU mounting area..Let the SPARKS fly!!

Things took a turn (360 degrees) at this point..Problem (a)
In order to use that LL bracket, the Hiper PSU needs to be mounted up-side-down..Not the end of the world in my book, in fact it looks good like that..Problem (b) the fouth bolt needs to be mounted through the MB I/O plate which I do not have (no MB yet) so, that will have to wait for another day.
A more serious problem (c) is that the Aqua-Computer APE120 grill I had planned to use for the exhaust fan is in the way of the PSU bracket's mounting bolts..
Too bad..Well back in the parts box..
With the Dremel cuts finished, the PSU fits agreeably..
The unit sits on the cases PSU rails and is then bolted in place with machine screws (from inside the case) and finished off with acorn-head stainless bolts. Then on to green UV acrylic. I cut a strip 2.5" wide and the lenght of 3-sides of the PSU with it's mounting plate.
and bent it to conform with the right-angles of the power supply with a heatgun.
Let's "pull the paper" and see what we have:
I will drill a series of holes in the green acrylic to allow the Hiper's fan to take in some air (next time)..
Problem (d)..after looking at the pictures..
Just to much green..The PSU mounting bracket and the green UV acrylic is too much..I will re-paint the PSU bracket gloss black at another time..That should "contrast" better with the acrylic..
And there you have it, the Hiper PSU install. With all the "twist&turns" that come with doing what we do...
    The last few pictures:

    Until next time:

Yes. I will drill a series of small holes and follow the pattern of the 120mm fan, it should get enough air intake. In fact it will be drawing air from outside the case (cooler-air) than the PSU would in it's stock location. The holes will also add more of than "UV glow" the cut edges take on..
I will get that PSU mounting plate re-painted soon. It should look better black..
