Hello again guys now I have a question to ask once again:

I recently brought myself a shiny enermax PSU that is 550 watts, and the systems total is 266 watts

I was wondering, if my total PSU watt is that much, would the PSU still draw 550 watts from the mains to power my system, or would it draw in a minute amount to power the 266 watts?

it would be stupid for the PSU to take in all the 550 Watts right? :geek:

Yep, it'll only draw whats needed + a few watts due to energy losses.

Power adapters for laptop, and desktop power supply consumes what your system draws, with an extra few watts as lancer 778544 said.

The extra few watts varies based on how efficient your PSU is. Look for 80Plus Certified for 80% at 50% load efficiency, or 80 Plus Silver, Gold or Platinum for higher efficiency rating.
