I got quite excited after seeing the first trailer. Then now, after seeing ads that included the exploding fuel cell part, I somehow knew it's going over the top, and would suck. Haven't seen it, probably won't until it somehow I happen to tune to HBO or Star Movies while they're showing it.

Blasphemy! Do not speak of that film in comparison to anything that wasn't directed by Uwe Boll.

I have another complaint about this title. When I went to see it, because of the sheer amount of licensing and merchandising rights thrown around, I watched SEVEN adverts directly connected to the film before the film itself started. So I'd seen every decent action sequence, associated with a variety of products, before the opening credits.

I don't know about anybody else, but for me that ruined my experience completely, it was insulting...

I actually enjoyed QoS a lot and C R aswell! Nice locations and great fightscenes. I must admit I love the Bourne movies and their style so it's very easy for me to like Bond. Yes it's not the style of the old movies but I prefer this Bond and the fast pace fight-and chasescenes, e.g. the opening car chase was just brilliant! Not much a fan of Olga Kurylenko (well mostly because the short hair looks terrible on her) the british agent (Gemma Arterton) though is H O T! Craig is a real win and does a damn good job beeing a coldbloodded killer on the one side and a womanizer one the other.

I enjoyed Quantum of Solace. I don't know, but between Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace I actually like Daniel Craig's Bond much more so than Pierce Brosnan's (sp?). Craig's Bond isn't perfect, doesn't have a little gizmo for every situation, and actually takes a beating while doing the job, and is clearly still settling into his 00 status. The feelings M had from Casino Royal (Her thinking she may have promoted James too early) are still very apparent in this one as well during her dialogue with James and her other associates.

They shoudlnt have made two films over one story line, it was a stupid idea. I liked some parts of the movie, espiecally the car chase at the start though most of it was pretty meh compared to the last one. The last one in my eyes was almost perfection. This had no real story line, no real bond girl which I was attracted too or cared about and finally the song was utter crap.

Was it a great film? No
Was it a bad film? No
It was an average/good film to me really. Not up to the usual standards though.

To me, it was no better than the average action movie. Slightly worse than the Borne series.

My main problem was that hardly any of the old bond cliches showed up (partially due to him not being on a mission per se for most of the movie). Where were the "vodka martini" or the "Bond, James Bond" lines? Where was the excessive womanizing? Where were the gadgets?

ESPECIALLY after CR, this disappointed me.

I sorely missed the Bond intro, and then all the usual bond things.. most of the movie left me going "ok.. wtf is happening.. why is this happening? wth is this related to? I'm so lost.."

Overall it was an OK movie, not that great though IMO, wouldn't watch it again and would save my money if I was given the choice again.

Exactly the same. And it's not the camera work, I've realised - I watched Blair Witch, Cloverfield and the third Bourne this week and they all sat fine with me, no nausea, no confusion or loss of interest. With QoS it was just the poor storyline exposition - I had no idea what was happening, or why, beyond the first 20 minutes.

It's an absolutely killer mistake to make with a film, too. You can afford some ham-fisted dialogue or some predictable/cheesy moments, but if you let your audience lose track of the story everything else is futile because they stop paying attention.

It breaks the magic spell (s'what we call it when doing video work) :p

And yea, the camera was often nauseating and doesn't enhance the movie at all IMO. I like camera movement if it has a purpose, like Blair Witch, Cloverfield, and stuff, it's meant to increase the feeling of panic and the unknown happening. But with Bond.. I don't know, the Bond character always seems to be more or less in control of all the events, and there's no real panic, so the camera movement doesn't mesh well with it.

"meh" is my responce to it. I like daniel craig and I think he makes a decent bond - I just hate the story and the direction they take it in.

I hated Brosnan's Bond, I thought he was like a cheesy B-list porn star in a suit.
