Hi Simon, I was looking at http://www.scan.co.uk/products/logi...-custom-leds-weights-changable-grips-and-more but only 1 year warranty makes Ph4ZeD an unhappy panda
in what way is your revolution failing? some of the repairs are very simple and inexpensive. i still think theres nothing that is its equal available for features and comfort. might be worth it to save it.
I don't like the G9X. I like full hand position on the mouse.. which is what the MX series provides. In addition, the hyper wheel system button, is at the BOTTOM of the mouse. And due to the cover on top, it feels a bit flimsy from my observation and test. I am not saying it's a bad mouse.. reviews are clearly not stating that, far from it. But I think, for MX user, it's a big switch, and I don't think he would be comfortable with it. Of course, as I say, test in store to see, first. As everyone is different.
That is true... if your mouse randomly double click, Logitech will cover you.. I think there is a non-official recall on that. They might send you a Performance MX free, even if it's out of warranty. Well don't tell them it's out of warranty... put things on your side.
+1, but rather go for the Ikari laser(if you prefer a higher DPI. Very precise, good DPI, extremely comfy I am using it at the moment and couldn't be happier with it.
The X8 has DPI buttons too, but the LED buttons and screen are always red, but they are only on when wired, or if you push one of the DPI buttons. The scroll wheel is the opposite; it's very clicky, but personally I like that and it feels solid and well built.
The fault is minor but extremely annoying. The mouse has a problem with registering when I hold down the left mouse button. Its no big deal in BC2 as I just click the mouse more enthusiastically so bullets still fly out the same, but its terrible for Starcraft 2. I hold down the left mouse button to select some units, the box disappears after I've selected a portion of them, meaning I can't control my units for ****!
Call Logitech, see what they can do. They might give you the Performance MX, or at least give you 30 to 50% off (you can negotiate, so obviously push the 50%) on a product of your choice on their site.
Yes. This where you can get your 30-50% off. Also, http://consumerist.com/2010/03/5-year-old-speaker-dies-logitech-replaces-entire-system-for-free.html
first thing i suggest you do is just pop it open and make sure some fluff hasn't accumulated around the micro switch, you'd be surprised. give it a try without the shell on, just touching the switch and see how it reacts. if its bad and you're comfortable with soldering the part is cheap.
It all depends on what grip you are if you are a claw griper go for the g9x no better mouse for it, but if you are a palm griper you will hate the G9x but will love the MX from my friends experience stay away from razer mice as all of his razer mice have broken here is a video describing the different mouse grips better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luCxbVslSFM
For me its the Razer Deathadder..... Fits my hand perfectly and is a dream to use. And the thumb buttons are perfectly positioned. Mice are a tricky one as personal preferance and hand size make all the difference. Plus I like my Mice ultra sensitive......and I must say with DPI, Polling and sensitivity all up to max.....its perfect I havnt personally met any1 that dosnt like the deathadder, they love the feel of it and the shape......But hate my settings....lol Each to there own thou......You really should test a few before taking a leap of faith.....I got lucky cause for some reason in Australia no one offer an out of box sample of Mice to test.....I leaped at the deathadder hoping it would be what I want and It was
The MX510 is still performing excellently for me 7 years down the road. The MX518 is supposed to be an improvement upon it and has excellent customer ratings. I thought the same thing GoodBytes, but you need a mouse pad, I had to break down and purchase new mouse feet at 5 years and got a soft-touch mouse pad that is not wearing down the feet nearly as quickly. My desk is not made out of sandpaper either.
Not strictly true, it's always wireless even when connected, it's just charging whist using it, but never sends the signal down the wire. Someone asked about the battery life with the X8, it's worth noting that it uses a standard AA rechargeable battery that only lasted me a year before it failed entirely. But being a standard AA rechargeable I was able to replace it easy enough. I don't rate the mouse that well myself. It feels too heavy for my liking, the middle mouse click needs more pressure then you would expect, and I don't like the position of the two side buttons. It's a very wide mouse and even if you apply only a slight 'claw' type grip it's not the mouse for you. Obviously many rate it though, but I thought I'd point out it's not a clear cut choice for all.
