Hi folks, I've run out of talent on this one and need some help please. A QNAP NAS (Linux OS, EXT 4 I think) containing 2 discs (RAID1) was given to me for data recovery. The owner accidentally recreated the RAID array hence the volume shows as empty. I have one of the discs in a caddy and have installed TestDisk, though I'm unsure of how best to proceed. Much love! Cleggy.
First make a backup of the disk either clone it or use acronis or something. There are some free data recovery tools that i have had some success with although I forget the names of them now. Although Google is your friend. Never used this myself and not sure how accurate it is but Google gave the following link. http://www.freeraidrecovery.com/library/raid-rebuild.aspx Just be sure to clone the disk or something first.
Thank you DB, will investigate further. Christmas, the one time of the year everyone phones me with their tech related problems!
