P2D: So congrats on your new purchase; I hope you get a lot out of it. Can't go wrong with a nice Samsung.

I personally could never trust a wall-mount for something that expensive, unless I watched them firsthand building the thing into cement.

First let me say WHOOOOOHOOOOOO! (since this is my first post after the Steelers won the Superbowl).

Nice plasma CarlT2001 and P2D. I am going to be buying a projector, nice screen, and HDTV tuner this summer. Then I will be able to watch movies and football the right way. LOL!

    Peace,
    Nick

It would have to be an HDTV really for it to look any good, even then it'd look ok compared to a properly high resolution PC monitor.

SDTV would suck. As for hooking the things up, its very easy, and can be done with DVI for more modern tech types, or S-video for less decent LCD/Plasmas and all CRT's.

edit: Oh and not to be pedantic, but, its Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, morrowind was the individual name of the last one, not the series name :)

Nice, M3G4. Like how everything fits perfectly in the media area.

Thanks... I was originally going to get rid of it however. I recently got the AV amp, and with no real access to the rear, wiring it up was trial and error and all in all a rather painful process... however, it does a great job of hiding the cabling (it's a real rats nest - everything there is linked to the other with one or more cables)

Yeah, i've wired the TV to my PC via S-video because my VGA cable is too short (wont reach one side of the TV to the other :D )

Videos look OK but i'm yet to try any games- will letcha know :)

Just turn the tv round so it's facing the wall, cable should reach then.

Then cut a hole in the wall and watch it from another room...

Not a bad idea actually, if you've got a nice TV and two rooms separated by a half-wall or a countertop or somthing, put the TV on a lazy susan in the middle, then tilt it around depending on which room you're in... maybe even mod it to turn by remote, using a servo...

I'm thinking a longer cable is probably a better solution :hehe:

Yep, I'm too lazy when it comes to cable management. It's like spaghetti under the desk.

Synergy is a lifesaver. Windows XP on the left, Debian server on the right, one keyboard/mouse in the middle.

The Mac Mini is the Debian server. It's my little development machine/FTP server. (It can barely run Mac OS X, but it handles Debian quite nicely. ;))
