I play allot of games with my friends over weekends, and I’m constantly lugging my PC around. Once Filtration is finished I wont be able to move it so I thought I would purchase a nice Mx11. Then I realised I don’t really want to spend £1000 on something that wont be my main PC, and will be out of date in a few years. So what’s the answer? A PC that is completely Self Contained and easy to lug around and upgradable. I want a PC I can pick up and move as easy as a laptop. So I thought I would build a PC with an inbuilt screen and space for mouse and KB to go inside. I wanted the box to be as small and as light as possible so I chose a 15” screen. Luckily my stand in PC for Filtration was a M-ATX board so I’m using all that hardware and i have 2x 15” screens lying around so it wont cost me a penny... Well only about £50 in materials... and maybe another £20 if i get in powder coated but I’m going function over form here, so don’t expect everything to be pretty, this PC is being built to suite a purpose.

So the box will be 350mm x 300mm x 210mm and will be everything needed for a gaming session.
Something else which is quite lucky the monitor i will be using has built in speakers and a headphone jack :) Ill be putting these in for sure!

Ok here is a shot of how everything slots together.

I took this from my old case, on off reset and lights. Looks really nice and perfect for making sure it does not get to hot in there!

This will be a very fast build. Hoping to get the Aluminium to build the box mid week. Maybe even finished this weekend.

I need it done by the 20th as im off stuck in a hotel for 5 nights alone... WOW anyone :D

    More soon

I modded the PSU today so it can power the monitor as well.

Are you going to keep the keyboard and mouse wires, or get some wireless replacements?

Also, you're making me want to redo my briefcase.
    Its seems inadequate now.

No i like wired and i want it to be easy, as in no battery's to worry about

    Its going to be:

E8400 or E6600 depending, probs sell the E8400
7600 GT - Might upgrade this to my 8800 GTS 512, depends, as its only a 15" screen @ 1024 x 768 it will probs run everything fine.

The alli should be here tomorrow, depending on a few other orders turning up i should have some good progress made on it by the end of thus night.

How are you cooling the entire thing? I mean, an SFF solution would be warm enough but you're adding the heat from a monitor into the equation as well...

Firstly off im going to see if the PSU fan is enough to cirulate the air. It will be sucking air in through vents and expelling it at the back. there is actuly not much volume for air so i think this should be enoght. If not i will be adding fans or up the PSU fan. I will be monitoring temps when i first turn it on.

    Sounds like a better idea!!

nice bending.. I really struggled with my bending as I didnt have anything tool wise to help me bend, just a table edge and a hammer...

    what did you use?

Good plan, what are you using as the exhaust? I'm guessing the PSU but still I'm interested :p
