I've had my 2500k for a year or so now and in the past I've dabbled with overlcocking but always failed. I think it's more than likely that I utterly fail at overclocking as I've always been unsuccessful whatever chip I try so I can't be that unlucky with bad chips. My 2500k runs at stock but turbos to 3.9ghz I believe and yet I see people happily hitting 4.4ghz with stock volts etc. If anyone could give me some fool proof setting for 4.4ghz and some things to try I would be very appreciative.
Well you'll need to do a few things. Probably enabling LLC and increasing the multiplier asa good start - what have you tried so far?
In all honesty I forget what I've tried so far. I usually jot down every setting I try but was kinda lazy with my 2500k.
Like this one... http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2011/01/07/how-to-overclock-the-intel-core-i5-2500k/
I used the one in the mag which if I recall correctly was actually on my board thinking it would be fool proof but I just got BSOD's maybe I'll run through it again I probably made an error somewhere or I'll try one of the ones linked to. Thanks I'll report back. .
What board have you got. In most cases its really easy to hit 4.3 to 4.4ghz. After that it normally takes a bit more fiddling.
