As I stated earlier, using the Blue translucent acrylic instead of clear did show up for the video... It was too hard to see the design! So, last night we did another top window.. We'll show you everything in the next video segment

When we mount that window back on the top panel, I'm imagining anodized blue socket head screws, heres the link for one source thats well know, but I'd prefer larger selection of sizes tbh. Other than custom motorcycle catalog, the states lack a real good selection of suppliers for anodized fasteners.

Thanks icute! On wed I met with a local Anodizing outfit to work with Mnpctech. I had dropped off some new fan grills to have them perform samples in Black, Blue and Red anodizing. If the Blue looks good, I may have the new alum bezel for this case anodized in Blue and engrave some designs in the surface after.
It's been great guiding Brad with everything in the shop. I can't wait to get the alum bezel rolling!

another shot of the top panel, simple and clean

Thank you for your post! I finally found the time to start editing the window etching portion of the upcoming part 2 video last night. Next I need footage of the bezel being milled this week and the test fitting, then I should have that video posted here :thumb:

Tell him to just add more light.:D
The dark blue and bright yellow works good. You have maximum color contrast for proper eye burning. All you need now is a battling seizure robots mode for the lights.

    right on cheapskate :thumb:

    Thanks Kyle :D

Instead of buying those blue anodized machine screws, today I'm trying out Plastikote's Anodizit spray paint on some 6/32 socket head screws. I'll post the results here soon

    LOL! ^ no kidding

At the end of day I tend to find solutions that are closer than ordering them, so instead of ordering anodized screws from Fastener Express, I dipped into our stock of 6/32 x 3/8" socket head machine screws (used with Hardware labs Black Ice radiators) and decided to try this new paint I heard of.

Instead of buying anodized blue screws, I decided to try out Plasti-kote's new "Anodizit" Blue Paint
    [IMG]

Before applying "Anodizit," I scuffed up the screw heads on a Scotchbrite pad for better adhesion
    [IMG]

Instead of masking off 30 socket screws for paint, drilling 30x 8/32 holes in a 2x4 is a lot quicker :thumb:

You only need a couple of light coats of "Anodizit" ...too many coats and it darkens the anodized effect
    [IMG]

After an hour of cure time, I then applied my clear coat of choice, Plasti-kote's Engine Enamel Clear!

I'm happy with the results!

Thanks for the paint idea. Most of us can afford paint before anodizing. So whats up with the Alum. slab? I still can't believe you would put that on a MicroFly:rock: To each, his own. To be Bill, to overkill!
    Still here,
    John
