Hi everybody Is the socket 1366 going to be taken off the market in the next 12 months and the socket 1155 replacing it? Thanks
No, it will be replaced by skt 2011 in Q4 of this year. Intel still class 1155 as the mid- range offering.
But considering the performance you get from a P67 mobo and a i7 2600 it may as well be obsolete now.
Intel was naughty releasing the faulty chipset, but true gamer not using your AWESOME rig for folding is just plain criminal. I will tempt you over, i will. hehe
I should look into folding @ home Anyway, if you can hold off till Q4, and save a little more, you should be able to get a nice x79 Skt2011
You my friend suffer from upgraditis. And a sever love of shiny new tech. The only cure? FOLDING!! Oh and socket 2011 looks so so sweet, even tho my 2600k is overkill for gaming. You should join this years chimp challenge would be a good start for folding. Id love to see how that awesome 990x @ 5ghz performs. Not forgetting those lovely 580s
