Hello guys. I'm just after coming from a Samsung TN Panel to a new LG IPS. I'm having a slight problem though. Everything has a red tint and I dont know how to get rid of it. When I go into the setting in the monitor it's self I get a few options. Including User- Get a red tint Movie-Get a blue tint Text-It's probally the best so far but everything is too bright and still a slight blue tint Photo-It's very similar to text but brighter sRGB-Much the same as 'User' Any ideas on what to do guys? Are my setting from my old monitor being carried over?
Under "user", if you reduce the red color a bit, should do the trick. It's "normal" for Movie to be blu'ish... like all TV's, and any monitor, that is what it does. Also, sometimes it also enabled dynamic contrast ratio if the monitor supports it. I don't know, a lot of people like watching movies in such mode. I don't much care.
I don't.... I am just assuming that there the default colors of monitor has too much red, based on what you said. So, I guess reduce red color until the colors of monitor satisfied you.
I think i have it now goodbytes. I just didn't think it would come so badley set. I ended up settling on using sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Still doesn't look perfect though. Maybe I've been looking at it too long.
Could try going through these http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ helped mine look much better as by default it was way too bright and the contrast was out. So long as the monitor is looking alright to you though is the important thing, just play around with the settings.
Hmm. well it is expected that you get a super fancy calibration... I mean for the price. But, reviews and people here seam to find it ok. Would be nice to get some feedback from people on this, as I don't have the monitor, so that we can see if fallen with a bad monitor, or that's like that. If it is normal, what I suggest you do, gets some Windows themes from Microsoft web site. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/personalize/themes?ocid=W7_personalizeCPL Get some country themes, and cycle though pictures after pictures, and adjust the colors for each, until you come to a nice balance. Time consuming, yes (maybe 15-20min of work tops, depends on how far off the colors are, and how good the colors you want them to be), but you do it once, and your good. But, it sure beats buying a 200-300$ color calibrator, or returning the screen and buy one with pre-color calibrated profiles (which cost mode)
Thanks guys. I'll have a mess around them. So far the monitor look amazing except the colours are way out when you get it. I don't mind spending an hour or two getting it right.
Oh and when you use lagom, it is perfect fine (and should expect that) that everything won't be perfect. Even on my Dell U2410 with sRGB or Adobe RGB color profile pre-color calibrated, it's not exact. I guess you need a color calibrator on your side to get something really really close or exact.
