WHats the point in uploading photos of your surroundings?

If i find some rich person with enough money for a PS3, I'm going to a brothel and uploading photos

 

Weird, my train of thought was on the exact same route as yours. I have visions of it becoming an online 3d porn mapping service thing...

 

Give it till the end of the year and we'll see Mr. Ken crying like a baby and handing in his notice.

The upload surroundings thing seems to be some lame effort at doing what Microsoft was doing with the program when you have a photo and it acts like a point of entry to explore other photos of the same area.

 

wow....i really really cannot believe how badly Sony are screwing things up. This must be a record or something?

 

Well it's better to go out in complete embarrasment with people laughing at you than it is to fade away.

Why only reduce the price of the PS3 in japan? Where with exchange rates its already cheaper than the US and the UK?

Think there crapping their pants a bit now, if they dont sell them in their home region, they've lost completely, as the 360 fails to make a big impact in japan their main rival is nintendo and tbh, they dont really have much of a chance, I see this as a last ditch effort to get people excited They say no US and UK price cuts, but I imagine in a couple of months when it doesnt sell anywhere near their projections, itll be dropped too just so they can get some consoles out there for people to buy games for and at least make them a bit of cash back.

 

Wii also has a channel where you can manipulate photos, movies and things of that nature.

"The competition has it, so we better have it as well" seems to be Sony's logic for this matter.

 

But the Wiis one lets you make your own Mii which stores on your Wiimote to take around.

 

Wow, so many fantastic features, I'm so excited I'm practically wetting my pants. Oh wait a minute, perhaps not...

But people will still buy it.

Well I say people, I mean fanboys...

The amount of bad press recently is getting stupid. Do Sony just not realise what a mess they're making?!

"We're Sony, it doesn't matter if we screw up...we'll still eventually take over the world".

 

The main reason people will buy it is because it will become a fashion accessory. No matter what people say it will still be bought and Sony know this.

I had a small discussion along similar lines with a friend of mine, he wanted to buy the new iPod. He currently has 3 iPods (one 20GB, one Nano one Shuffle) so I asked him why he wanted a new one. The answer "It's cool".

And people like that will not change.,

 

So... if the machines are meant to ready for the US & Japan before the end of the year.. and they've just announced another hardware change -- does this mean they still havent started the production lines yet? Or is it a more software based changed?

I really do want the PS3 to succeed as I loved the previous consoles but, something this time round is wrong -- they [Sony] just keep screwing up.

 

Can we convince those people that hand grenades are fashion accessories and they they can show how stylish they are by pulling the pin and using it as an earring?

Maybe Apple can be convinced to start buying batteries from Sony. Same effect

 

I personally will not be buying it. I have a xbox 360 though and I plan on picking up the Wii (just looks fun and I can dl the old nintendo games). I think they needed a wake up call and deserved it after the price was jacked up.

 

I thought Apple laptops were affected too, same as the Dell recall? But not in their precious iPods.
