Recently I tried installing Planetside 2 through Steam on to my SSD, Steam wouldn't let me saying it was read only?

So I installed it via the client downloaded from SOE. Worked fine for a couple of days, but now it's saying it can't update because the drive is read only. I've tried deselecting the 'Read-Only' box in the Properties, but that hasn't made any difference.

I've still got 5ishGb of space left on the SSD, could it be when it gets that low it goes to read only? After some Googling a few results say that the drive is set to fail in a month or so, yet SSDLife is saying I've still got 49 years. Can hardly believe either of these to be true given the huge variation.

So any ideas? Getting rather annoying tbh.

Nevermind, it apparently didn't like the install directory. So I'm downloading it again to see if that helps.

Make sure you run the setup/update as elevated credential (aka: True Admin)

Guessing that's a higher level than just clicking 'Run as Admin'?

Nope, it is the Runs as admin. I just wanted to difference it from the account being admin.

Ahhh okay. Well it's installing fine at the moment, so I'll see how it goes when it's done. Cheers.
