Made some adjustements to the front by adding som brushed aluminum to it My H100 didnt arrive as it should so im still waiting, hoping that it will arrive later today so that i can continue working.
Yes! finally my Corsair H100 and the hx650 psu showed up. One thing became very clear and that was that theres really not much room in this case. But there was enough. The 2x120 rad in place below the new top Windows 7 up and running and the cpu running at 30 degrees celcius wich isnt to shabby. Work continues...
Ive decided to use the old tubes from the original insides of this radio. The tubes will be mounted inside and lit by red leds so that you can see them glowing inside through the front. Just finished making the mounts for the tubes and im hoping that my leds will arrive today so that i can get em mounted.
Looks awesome! I love the idea to implement some original parts from the radio making it even more like a radio scavanged from the depth of the city of Rapture.
Wolverine, that is a beautiful build, man! Love the front panel. You got a great little cnc room there, I wish I had one like that. Keeps all dust inside means clean garage Those tubes will look brilliant inside, where you gonna mount them - on both sides behind the front?
Yeah thats exactly what ive planned two glowing tubes on each side of the centercircle. Glowing just enough so that you can see them but not enough to be disturbing
Brilliant! I hope they will look like live tubes do. I always loved the glow of vacuum tubes. I spent so much time looking in the back of the TV, I probably will get brain cancer.
Finally my red 5mm leds arrived And i wasted no time getting them mounted on the tubemounts and fixing them in place and BAM some glowing tube goodness One thing i did notice was that the white light from the H100 cpublock was way out of place so that needs to be taken care of and theres still some cable tidying tp get done but the end is getting closer and closer
I love the tubes, especially that diffusion in the night shot... Looks almost sacred!! I had similar plans for my Sputnik mod, but the lack of space didn´t allow it. Fantastic work!
