Suddenly dawned on me this morning, that this year I will be old enough to get a bus pass and a senior railcard in July.

I have seen a few fresh faced police officers recently. I mean, when I was born the Berlin wall was still up.

Ha ha! I was born less than 3 years after construction of the wall began...

    • Looking at people who you think are older than you but they are actually the same age or younger.
    • Making groaning noses whenever getting up.
    • Saying "ohhh, that's good" after taking the first sip of your cup of tea.
    • Wishing technology would slow down as it's good enough for what I want it to do now and the younglings now keep effing up things that work (actually, this realisation was back in 2016).
    • Making Matrix references in the office and younglings not getting it.
    • Telling younglings about 2nd edition WH40K.
    • Looking forward to getting to bed earlier than usual.
    • Wondering why anyone enjoys modern computer games.
    • Wondering why social media influencers are allowed to exist.
    • Wondering why anyone likes modern music.
    • Loving a car because it's very fuel efficient and reliable.
    I could go on...

When you occasionally switch from Radio 2 to Radio 1 and have absolutely NO idea who any of these 'artists' are......

When your amazing vision now needs to be supplemented with bits of glass, such a downer becoming a paid up member of the speccy four eyes bridgade.

That and things taking much longer to heal, blimey I had a blood test last week, looks like I got punched in the arm 5 days later with the bruising. WTF

Random extra hair growth, ears, nose eyebrows, the first time the barber mowed by brows I was shocked, felt violated, he didn't even ask never mind the part when they set fire to my ears, I was looking at the weird cottonbud thing wondering what's he doing with that as he sets it alight and proceeds to burn my hair off like that was totally normal, shocker

Don't even feel old, just my body deciding it time to get some comfy slippers and an ovaltine mate, slow down :D

I get that going into rooms but also going on the net as well - 'what on earth was I going to look for...'

My OH does the same but when she asks me what she was going to look at on the net it seems 'boobies' is never the correct answer

The joys of rubbish short-term memory. As well as what’s already mentioned, I forget what I’m going to say, as I'm talking, or just lose a word or a name that I want to say. Some days I can’t remember anything, it’s very frustrating…

Similar scenario but getting a new prescription. When playing around with the lenses I thought the Optician had found a new magical lense that let me see text way better up close. I was ecstatic until she told me I needed reading glasses in addition to my normal "everyday" ones....

    Me in the moment... :happy::happy::eeek::eeek::clap::clap::o::o::blah::blah::sigh::sigh:

Also for the thread I love the fact that both of our cars are completely silent in operation, I now detest noisy engines/exhausts despite owning multiple cars in the past for this very reason. Now they both still shift like a dog that has snorted a kilo of coke (the MG4 is especially hilarious as it looks like "an car" but does 0-62 in under 4 seconds..) but they do it in serene silence.

Now where did I put my slippers??

For me, it's when an Actual Adult talks about the memories of their childhood playing some game or other, and you assume it's going to be on the ZX Spectrum... and it's on the Xbox 360.

    Oof, my bones.

The real test of age is having a fall in public, if people laugh you're still young.
