As title. Currently looking at the LG IPS 234V monitor, and its newer version the 23EA63V. I like the thin bezel idea (even though it doesn't stretch to the edge) however leaning toward the 234V as it has much more reviews. Also, out of curiosity - what monitors match the quality of that seen in an iMac display in an Apple shop? I know they would be expensive but would like to see what monitors match them. I use the monitor for overall use, not into the 120Hz/3D use and I use it for video/photography but nothing advanced. Thanks
I would have thought a DELL IPS monitor would be just as good as an Apple since I think they use the same panel, just with the DELL using a different coating (matte compared to gloss?)
I wouldn't mind trying (with DSR) however the problem is you can't get insurance to cover the monitors to send them back - so its quite frustrating really. I think companies will only pick it up if there is an issue with it, and not under DSR. Anyone had any success with a company of trying a monitor and returning under DSR?
Are you looking to spend around what the LG costs (£124)? Dell Ultrasharp monitors are really nice. I have the U3011 and love it. There also seems to be a lot of love for the 24" model too. That Goodbytes fellow would be able to give you the rundown on which models are best etc.
Apple thunderbolt display is an LG IPS true 8-bit panel 2560x1440 monitor. It uses the LG LM270WQ1 panel to be specific. The Dell U2713HM uses the same (well the non glossy version) - LM270WQ1-SLB2
Me too -- have one U2412M and might get another. It's actually cheapest on Amazon (cheaper than NRG:IT) last I looked.
Thanks for the replies guys, will check the monitors out. Looking at the Korean ones, whilst tempting the lack of a UK warranty puts me off! Nice price but don't think I'd want to send a monitor overseas for repair (bad enough trying to be able to get a courier to cover monitors within the UK!). DSR is to receive the goods and inspect them as you would be able to in a shop, which is a try before you buy. I agree about the restocking fee however. Just wondering on sending monitors back/around the UK how would you send it back under DSR (within the 7/14 days) to a online shop if no couriers (that I'm aware of) cover the monitors? Can the shop pick it up and you pay for their courier?
Goooooood Goooooood, let your anger flow through you. Embrace it! And you'll turn to the dark side. And finally, you'll be able to build for me, a space ship of the size of a moon!!! Mwahahahahahahah! (PS: I want a private IMAX screen inside. Oh and I want a plant on the opposite side of my room window, in a corner. That plant will really compliment the room. Oh and finally, I know in sci-fy shows that humans has evolved to be so efficient that we do not produce feces, hence the lack of toilets... we are not there yet. So don't forget the toilets!)
