    Ey guys

Just got a EK-FC280 to cool my ASUS gtx280 GPU

Silly question when pulling the stock cooling off the PCB i noticed attached to the back plate 8 thermal pads. In the EK installation manual it doesn't mention these whatsoever ever. Hence i'm wondering do i just remove the thermal pads and thats it??? Or am i meant to order a back plate for the cooling block and attach pads to that???

If anyone has any ideas or has done similar???

You can let these cool by leaving them open.

I got the EK backplate though.

In one of the featured mods, on this site, the guy installed one of these. I'm sure he made a point of putting new pads on. The article was posted in the last couple of weeks. Dunno which tho.

The Ram in the back VGA should be cooled or you risk damage or loss with prolonged use of the VGA.

Use of these heatsinks for ram type
    that are truly excellent
