I'm going to start this thread with a little introduction: there is something about cars and computers that are alike, one there is a clasic is always a classic...... ferrari 250gto, corvette '57, mustang 68 (shelby gt500), chieftec dragon, antec solo, lian li pc60,.... enzo ferrari, coolermaster wavemaster. so as the title of the thread says, I'll be working with a coolermaster wavemaster, the case is the silver version, and as any pc enthusiast / car restoration knows every mod is for the performance while remaining classic. so this mod will try to integrate water cooling and light up the lady with out loosing that classic look that made me fall in love with....
so the main hardware in this pc is going to be: asus p5n32-e sli intel core 2 duo 6600 corsair dominator 2048-8500c5d (for the moment) asus geforce 7900gt seagate 7200.10 500gb creative x-fi platinum pioneer dvr-111rd + the water cooling is mostly from swiftech water block apogee micro res reservoir pump mc655 radiator is the only thing that there is a little doub because the one from swiftech uses 3/8 barbs while the pump uses 1/2 barbs so I'm still debating on that one...

testing the with the inner design of the curve thanks man for the tip!!! this is a preliminary test fitting... tell me what you think be gentle is my first time
Are you gonna be doing any actual modding in this 'project log', or simply showing us pics of the system build, as/when you add new bits
have you read any of the threads or did you just stop at the pretty pictures¿? just relax as it has been published today and still working on it ok so this is as far as I've got, this was done with a hole saw and tested it with a radiator from swiftech... the radiator fits perfectly, and it looks like it was designed to be there, the only thing is that will need to look for better screws as these are crappy looking
also will be removing the motherboard plate and doing some cuts as this is a heavy case once you put hardware in it
i suggest you change that grill for this http://www.leftclicks.co.uk/userimgs/watercooling/wa023_b.jpg will look so much nicer, in sliver to match the case. I am true fan of classic look cases, iv got a stock looking Dragon and v1000b The mod is already looking good, maybe adapting the rear 80 to a 120 fan?
these are some cuttings i have done with the hole saw, tomorrow dremel time thinking of making another hole on top of the one already made and joining them with the dremel cut needs alot of filling i know, it was a rough cut only to make this lady loose weight
yeah, but a perfect circle just that big all for the sake of lightness? lol i have to agree with hazerdous' original post. What exactly are you going to DO? So far i see two holes and a few diy setups with the cute little packaged instructions. Plans would be nice. Or modding.
as I said before there is going to be another hole on the top of the mobo plate, the main purpose of this if to make this lady loose weight. I would advised not to expect mayor moding for this case as it advised in the beginning of the project that this is going to stay as close to the original look as possible, that is the main point of my project. The main plan of this mod is to make it as light as possible with out loosing the sturdiness of the case. second was to accommodate a water cooling system with out mayor changes to the case, just to make it as it was there in the beggining
finished cutting this is the back of the mobo plate and this is the whole case put together I still have to wait for the motherboard to arrive but i will start to buil up the watercooling to see how tigh fit it would be...
lol.. measure twice, cut once comes to mind, looks like the large holes werent really lined up when they were drilled, might want to straighten that up, good luck with the case i have the same case too, i have it modded to take a 2x 120mm rad and a full 3/8" loop, its a wonderful case just a tip, try using thick wall tubing, or coolsleves when routing tubes, i got lots of kinks when i first installed my loop in the wavemaster
