I'm currently looking at options for replacing the heater matrix in my classic car and a thick 240mm rad might be just about the right size. Will a PC watercooling rad be ok running under 13PSI of pressure at 90 degrees C?
Not sure how thick you were thinking, but alphacool do 'industrial' rads rated up to 5 bar. This cross flow one is 45mm thick and probably ideal with the port layout: https://www.aquatuning.co.uk/water-...t45-industry-hpc-series-x-flow-240mm-radiator Pretty sure the normal ones are rated for 2 bar so should take 13 psi no problem. In fact, I've seen them take much more (although not at that temp)
140!!! Think 13 should be ok, . Crossflow wouldn't work for this car, as standard the heater pipes are both at the same end of the matrix. Thanks, that's expanded my options.
Hardware Labs told me Black Ice NEMESIS GTS/GTX radiators are tested to 4.5 bars (65 psi) and can be safely operated at 2.5 bars (36psi) nominal.
