I'll go first: Aliens: Dark Descent

It's a lot of fun, if you're into the Aliens universe at all - Feels very much like the game of the Aliens film.

It ain't bloody easy though - mid way through and you'll likely get your arse handed to you on a regular basis.

    Definitely worth playing.

Anno 1800, as a long time fan of the Anno series I bounced off 1800 ****ing hard but over the past few years changes in regards to taking the monotony out of the early game expansion and nd now I cant put it down.

Just downloaded and had a go on Quake 2. Man it's fun and man it is fast. I forgot how much fun killing enemies and yelling "MERTOG" back at them was

Are we retiring the existing "what are you playing?" thread?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdon

Core mechanics are identical to Breath of the Wild, but they've added quite a lot of new stuff to make it more interesting. Map is also a lot bigger, too. Weapon durability is less of a problem now that you have the ability to make your own weapons - just grab a wooden club and slap a monster part on it. Some of combinations you can make are even more powerful than the Master Sword. Finding it a bit of a grind to fully explore the depths though, which is a shame because finding all the lightroots will help you in the surface world (in ways that I won't elaborate on for fear of spoilers).

Hell yes. This remaster is absolutely brilliant, it feels almost exactly the same as when it first came out. Just with updated graphics. This is what a remaster is supposed to be, you don't have to re-make the whole damn thing from scratch again.

Honestly, I couldn't find it. I even did a thread title search under "playing" and it wasn't listed.

Mods - feel free to delete/merge if you like.

    You know it's funny.

I played through Quake 2 all those years ago when Voodoo 2 was a thing. I loved it, one of my top 10 ever. The RT one came out ages ago, started playing it but it just felt a bit meh. This remaster though? holy crap. I nearly skipped it, because I looked at it and thought it wasn't that much better looking than the RT one. IMO? it isn't, however, the whole game engine has been upgraded and the smoothness and fluidity of combat is incredible.

    It was ESO but...

meh... of the 3 main faction areas, i find 2 of the 3 crippling tedious to play through and even then i only really got as far as the first major city in each.

I guess i just can't get on with Elder Scrolls games...

Yep. It’s like the original game, but… better. Quake 2 RTX just didn’t really feel like Quake 2, but the remaster… holy balls! I need to get through it and play the new mission pack because it apparently really shows just what this new version is capable of. But Tears of the Kingdom is just demolishing my gaming time right now

I played it all day yesterday. Got two maps left to do, then I will move onto the extra missions. Great fun.

At the weekend I started playing Cloudpunk. Dystopian future setting were you work for a delivery firm. 3D pixel graphics actually look pretty good. Haven't progressed far with the story but the first game in a while I've wanted to set off exploring and lost several hours before realising it.

VR I've been playing Sacralith. Not bad, can be completed in a few hours once you get your eye in. Loading seems to take an age and have encountered a few bugs like people getting stuck or deciding to AI off in the wrong direction. Movement round is done by teleporting between points and I can understand why it's done like that but it can become disorientating when you teleport and the action is now occurring behind you. Some levels you will need to teleport between a few spots which can get frustrating but I guess part of the challenge.

Laptop I started playing mini motorways again after checking out the latest update. Pretty fun game that can sometimes be agonisingly frustrating. Plenty of challenges too for any sadists thinking the normal game is a tad tame.

Bloody hell, I’m up to 70 hours in that game so far :eeek:
