Going in all guns blazing, going to brush up on my excel shizz before going in and maybe try and learn some vba. Kick ass and chew coffee beans so when that discussion comes I'm in a good position to be asking for the upper boundaries of the advertised salary range.

We're introducing a new financial benefit in April: interest-free loans. Having given this some thought, and having scoured the interwebs a little (OK a lot), I've realised that this puts buying a property within reach. We were going to start making preparations to move anyway (boxing up stuff we don't use all the time, throwing out old stuff we don't want/need any more, etc), but up until around mid-day I assumed I'd be renting again. This changes things somewhat...

Best of luck with the new job! VBa is pretty easy to get to grips with! An easy way to get started is to record some macros and then take a look at the VBa code it produces.

I've used it a few times like that, recorded a few key strokes and/or functions, then copy-pasted it changing a keystroke or 2 to repeat it. Had to do it for the credit card payment file as it got imported into access, which would throw a fit if there were any non numerical characters in the payment reference field. So previously, people had been manually doing a find and replace for each non numerical character, or filtering for them. One. By. One. It would take forever, or at least what seemed like it. Especially when you'd have somehow missed one, the upload would fail, and then have to go through them all again. Few minutes of jiggery pokery and a macro made it a 5 second job.

Now that the store I was in has closed, my former colleague is trying to get me into their chill store, so hopefully that happens nice and easy.

Then my next step is to get the twerky one in.

XLOOKUP function is your new friend, I totally abuse excel (that is I should be using a proper database, especial when I start nesting xlookups in xlookups) with this function. Replaced vlookup, hlookup, index and match.
