I paid off my holiday. Always feels superb when I do that. Really stoked now.

The Steam Deck is freakin' cool (potato photo because I was moderately sloshed at the time)

It's not gonna win any benchmarking awards, but the fact that it's a handheld console which can play games like Horizon: Zero Dawn or The Witcher 3 is absolutely blowing my mind. I know TW3 isn't exactly a new game and I know it even has a Switch port, but have you seen what it looks like on the Switch?
Speaking of the Switch.... this thing has analogue sticks that don't feel like I'm wobbling a button mushroom around - you know, sticks I can actually use. Although after a few many hours yesterday I did find my hands cramping a little.
Can be a little bit of a crapshoot with "unverified" indie titles though; some, like Rogue Legacy, work absolutely perfectly, but others, like Dead Pixels, either won't work or have weird issues with the controls.
The 40Hz screen mode is genius; 30fps limit can still feel really choppy and horrible but 40fps is a great compromise, I played TW3 for a couple of hours at 40fps and it looked fantastic.

What they really need for the Deck is for people to be able to buy it without the queueing system. Just rock up to the Steam store, buy your deck, and have it delivered within a week or so. That £350 price point for the base model is an absolute bargain for what you're getting.

Looks like the opening shot to an episode of Vera

That and an umbrella should see you sorted for next week so long doesn't evaporate your pool too quickly.

Careful, Andy, he's jacked his prices and frequently hints at "payment in kind".
