Cat finally had a bit of food today (not enough but still), hopefully the steroids are starting to work.

Realistic optimism at the moment but still prepared for the worst.

While she's napping I finally got chance to swap the PS5 plates to the Matt black covers.

This has calmed my head somewhat, I hate glossy white crap.

E: Kitty. Three days of steroids hopefully seem to be working (7 to go). Buying all the cat foods to choose from after several days of handfeeding anything and she managed to get through a couple of packets in the past 24 hours.

Hopefully this is a turning point.

I bought something. More info on that soon but it’s tech pron.

In other news I learned that if you ask Alexa to say-

Alexa. Say coffee bean 100 in Welsh

    you get a nice surprise.

hint - don’t do it with the kids around.

I am through to the next round of interviews, I will only have to do one instead of 6 this time. That's nice, except I can't treat interview number 1 as sacrificial, which is not nice.

Still lagging behind the "What's ruining your life" thread though - we need more optimism in the world, especially given everything that's going on in it right now.

On topic - I created a thread in 2009, which now has 1337 pages after ~15 years. I'd say that's pretty awesome.

Two years since my last post by the look of it - I really should make myself more active again - the fact that this forum is still going after the main site stopped receiving updates really is a testament to the community (and a statement about how not every online discussion needs to be on a Faceache group or Reddit )

Nice to see a stranger return @Brooxy , especially in their own thread :thumb:

Yup, some of us are still clinging on to one place on the internet you don't have to draw lines in the digital sand and just shout for no reason.

Hopefully, the rebuild will be immediately followed by a fast-tracked listing of the building.

I would think they will do that yes.

Something very similar happened in Margate. There's a very old theme park down there called Dreamland. It's a sizeable bit of land. In the 80's it was owned and ran by the Dutch Benbom Brothers. And it was really good then.

Any way, a known property developer bought the park and it remained empty. And then what would you know? the listed roller coaster burned down and they immediately applied for planning permission to put in flats etc. Council said nope, and that coaster was listed so you have to completely restore and rebuild it.

I would say they learned their lesson.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scenic_Railway_(Dreamland_Margate)

That's the wee bugger, the Scenic Railway.

Some of my work trousers are knackered so I dug out a little worn pair from the cupboard and found £20 in the pocket.

    Small wins = big smiles

[edit] on the leet page too!

Kinda wishing it was £144, but that would be gross.

This morning is one of those rare (for me) mornings where I feel… well rested, despite waking up a couple of times.

Actually, I feel damn good this morning.

I even actually started working on time; my “normal” routine is to immediately check my email & Teams messages, have my coffee, and then proceed to piss about on my phone for a couple of hours while wiggling the mouse now and then to prevent the laptop going to sleep. But in the 30-odd minutes I’ve been logged on I’ve managed to solve something that’s been bugging me for days.
