it looks that way, but it just isnt. never heard anyone complain about 'button' lifts, well i did once but that was cus i ended up sliding back down the hill ( backwards) with pole in hand, now not connected to the wire :D

As a snowboarder, I've heard plenty of people complain about button lifts!
Doable but not easy for the beginners.

snowboarders + button lifts = HILAROUS
they just werent made for them, and especially beginners spend a long time falling on there ass, watched two girls attempt it several times, though the lift was a grab and hold on type with a very very fast and jerky initial movement.
as for skiers it couldnt be easier, i cant see how people fall off them.

    grumblegrumblebloodyskiersgrumble

i guess i'm pretty used to poma lifts through work, lots of fun to be had (sliding up on soapy shoes, pulling back to create loads of tension then flying a few feet through the air, "fishin'" (you'd just have to see it) ) so i don't really "understand" people not being able to use them. It IS a bit weird for us snowboarders but sorta becomes second nature. As for comedy lift action, try watching people trying to use a rope tow. To be fair, if you're big/heavy/weak, rope toes are tough to get going on.

    AH

i dont grumble :p bloody snowboarders allways cutting us skiers up, falling over whenever they feel like it, running into you cus they cant stop quick enough....
i couldnt care less if you did the above ^^ as long as it didnt hurt i'll still be laughing xD

i HATE rope tows, couldnt use one for the life of me, i tick two of the boxes, big (6'4) and heavy (you do the math!! ...about 14.5st.)

yes i have done snowboarding and i loved it, just not the right resort to do it at.
if you wanna snowboard all year round...check out www.freebord.com taught me how to 'board before i hit the slopes. didnt spend my 'boarding taster session' of 2 hours long on my arse like all the other n00bies, i could actually, turn, carve and stop within 20mins xD

I have a funny picture of you Stickeh when we bumped into each other skiing in Bulgaria. Seem to remember its you trying to pretend your not absolutly wasted. Amazing what a small world it is when you can meet someone a few hundred miles away without knowing.

I dont mind button or rope lifts but meh thats me. Lol i dont mind snowboarders but they tend to be a lot more cocky and confident of their skill than skiers. How i laughed when a showboarder thought it would be cool to talk on his mobile on the way down..only hitting into the padding around the ski lift supports haha.
