Hi. I am looking to get a new monitor soon with my new pc upgrade. My budget for the monitor is $200-250 Australian Dollars. Graphics card: HIS 2Gb HD6970, CPU: i5 2500k. Could someone let me know of a good gaming monitor?

With that kind of gpu it would be a bit of a waste to get a monitor for that money but I suppose the LG ips panel would be the best (don't know the full name)

either the dell U2311H or the LG IPS231P-BN are your best bet in my opinion

I'm also thinking about buying the ips231p-bn but is it good for gaming? would i be better of just buying a TN panel like the BenQ G2420HD or a Syncmaster BX2350?

Some say the ips231p-bn is good for gaming, others dont.

If you are not getting paid to win FPS games don't worry you will not notice the difference in ms and the IPS provides you a much better image quality then any TN panel.

I'd definitely suggest an IPS panel over TN any day - I haven't noticed any lag on my VP2365wb but the image quality difference is huge.

People that say that IPS panels are too slow for gaming, and he is not saying this to a super duper hard core FPS competition player/winner, with humming bird wing speed reflexes... they don't know what they are talking about.

Last gen IPS panel (the one out now), are really fast.
