You have a chance if you disclose it. The company I work with will get rid of you for not fessing up. If you start lying in month one, how could they trust you going forwards?

 

Jesus Christ, don't be a bloody idiot. Disclose what you did, straight away, and be honest about it. You'll find out that it is generally fine, as long as you're not applying for a post working with children when you're on the sex offender's register.

They even say you will be dismissed if you don't disclose. So disclose.

 

Got stung on the end of my finger last night by a wasp (I think, it was dark). It still hurts now. Ow.

 

Would it be in my interest to quit rather than have a gross misconduct on my record?

I think you're over reacting, just sit down with you're line manager or HR and tell them straight what you've done.

The longer you wait the worse it gets. Plus what have you got to loose coming clean.

Either you quit on the grounds thinking that they'll fire you, or you confess and they fire you,

OR

You confess and they say, that's fine no worries.

Went back to A&E this morning and both the xrays taken of my chest and shoulder have had to be referred onto a specialist because they can't work out if something is broken or not :S

Annoying, I can't drive either because I don't have the strength to move the gear stick either.

What's the first sign of cabin fever?

Oh, and Evolutionsic - you need to disclose whatever, and fast.

There's probably a clause in your contract around misrepresentation and if you've stretched the truth they can (and have every right to) take you to court for it, especially if it may harm the company's reputation.

Bloody Landline. Our phone's been on the fritz for a couple of weeks. We lose the dialtone, it crackles in the ear piece etc. Even the broadband goes in and out. It's unbelievably slow sometimes and other times the connection just goes completely. I phone up Sky and they have to send out an engineer.

I'm dreading it because I know they're going to blame me and say I did some damage, for which i'll have to pay £150.

 

Have you done any damage? How can you damage a phone line besides physically damaging it, or trying to shove some extra voltage through it in some dodgy way? Most likely just a fault between the cabinet & your master socket- old ropey copper wire....

Received latest 'Scan shot' in my email- GTX 670s down to ~£170; I paid £300 9 months ago... *groan*

 

I got that when i bought my 8800gtx shortly after launch. but i learned to just ignore the fact there was better and what i had was valued at a lot less and just contented myself that it ran everything i threw at it and made things look awesome.

I'll be doing the same with my current 680 for some time too

Damn Car! fix one thing only for another to break. finally got round to replacing a wheel bearing that was making one hell of a noise only to find out that it was hiding another noise. have now come to realize that my wishbone bushes need replacing and one of my coilovers has developed movement where the piston goes into the shock, and i have 1 day to get it fixed so that i can get to work on monday. great!

 

spent the day replacing the fibreglass insulation in a ceiling, im filthy, itchy and i can feel it between my teeth.

just got home from putting up new boards, left a trail of destruction on my way to the shower.

 

3 years ago had a fight down town, with random guys carrying my mum in which my mate pointed out. She was on a works due which i didn't know and basically these guys were ignoring me, she was to drunk to speak and they were dragging her feet along. After awhile of saying "mum" that's my mum" and getting ignored i grabbed her arm to which a fight broke out. They dropped the charges and police hit me with a section 4 and i had to attend anger management for a couple of months.

I intended to put her in a taxi going home sadly that happened after rather than before.

I thought completing the anger management course kept it off my record for some stupid reason. However this isn't the case and it doesn't become spent for 5 years.

 

That's the thing. It's been the same as since we moved in, since we rent. It's inside a cupboard above our front door(worst. place.ever); and we have to use an extension cable to actually use the damn socket, since it's the only one in the house. They got us to do all the tests without anything in it etc.

I just know we've not actually done anything to it, it's just obvious they're going to blame me anyway so they can charge me for it.
