Well, they're there if you need 'em. They've literally been sat on a shelf since I upgraded to the A10-5800K way-back-when, gathering dust "just in case."

I broke the Washington Healthcare exchange system.

Tried to get insurance through the website, but it kept throwing error messages saying I had to call customer service. Spent half an hour on the phone with customer service, who probably made the problem worse, then "accidentally" disconnected me while putting me on hold.

Cause of the faulty backlight in my Thinkpad turns out to be... not a broken LCD cable, so I just wasted €25 on a new one, along with my time, and now I haven't the faintest idea what else could possibly be the problem. The screen is fine, the cable is fine, the diodes on the motherboard are fine,... I hate giving up without even knowing the issue, but I'm really getting tired of the whole thing tbh.

I suspect a piece of my clutch disc just sheared off. I'm fairly confident that I could follow the instructions to fix it (a massive job, I know), except I'm 2000 km from home, and was suppose to head back today. Now I'm potentially looking at upwards of $1000 (US$ to add insult to injury) bill to have the shop do it.

I've got a Q6600, decent HSF cooler, Motherboard and 4x1GB Sticks of DDR2 you're more than welcome to have if you can collect (2mins away from North Side of Tyne Tunnel). They 100% work fine, was the main parts of my GF's rig before I upgraded it so I know all parts are good. Let me know if you want to swing by and grab it :)

Its not fun mine sharted it fluid out the high pressure coupling I spoke to Abbott Motorsport this morning they are doing next day by 12 delivery for me bit of googling confirmed the part tends to fail partly as its been disturbed an also they increase in pressure from a new clutch/salve. Joys of plastic parts ey.
Also in a fair amount of pain between my shoulders from lying on my back drilling out the studs. Word of the day is "ow"
If its any comfort I drove my old car for a month with what I thought was a sloppy clutch or sheared plate. Turned out three of the four springs had snapped on the release plate an were rattling round free in the housing.

My saga continues. Mechanic thought the clutch was fine and said it was the motor mounts. $600USD later and it vibrates constantly and worse than ever. To make things worse, my dad needed to be back in Canada no later than friday, so add in another $320CAD to fly him back, and now I'll need to make the 17 hour return drive myself.

Oh, and the mechanic still has no idea whats wrong.

The only bright side is the endless rain (an oddity in the Nevada desert) seems to be over, and it should be 15-17C for most of next week.

Ordered pushbuttons switches for my desk display mod and when they showed up they were latching instead of momentary and hence totally useless. Not worth shipping them back to wherever i got therm from, so just annoying.

    Continuation of this...

When you're trying to install a piece of software and it takes one look at the hardware and responds with...

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... nope...

Sky keeps discovery, prices go up.

    It's what I'm betting on.

Got up for a pee (3am) and noted that Millie was playing with something on the bed, that something was a dead mouse. Still I should be grateful that it was not a live one which she has been known to bring home. The joy of cats eh?

Prices were already due to go up before this, some time around Feb or March iirc.

I have had this for most of my adult life, probably caused by using vibrating tools when working in the building trade. Since when has there been an operation for this? I always believed it was something you lived with.

After servicing my car I moved on to replacing the front discs.

Low and behold the bolt retaining the disc had been rounded down to a nice large smooth hole in the head. No problem I thought, smack an oversized torx into the hole and away we go.

Seems this just wants to be a f***er and the hole merrily just keeps getting bigger. Cue rain and what should have been straight forward and fairly quick has turned into a palava.

Add to the fact that the council decided that we don't actually need street lights turned on anymore.

    God I wish I had a garage, or at least a drive.:wallbash:
