So, I was sat playing my 360 this morning and all of a sudden the Wii started glowing blue in its special glowey way that it does, I turned it on only to have an email from Nintendo.

The email is basically thanking all the loyal customers etc and explains how the "forecast channel" goes live today and that you require a system update to obtain it's functionality.

Just thought the Wii owners might like to know if they didn't already :)

Not too much then. It will be handy for checking news and stuff I suppose. Not like I can't use about 5 other devices around my house, but its all good.

... I'm not saying we are getting forced into it, I don't see why you'd have to pay extra.

I reckon that as soon as the homebrew information is released FF will be out for free within a week.

They do actually. Opera is free on the desktop, but some of their portable browsers are still paid-for software.
