Hi all, My Google-fu is failing me - is there a way of wirelessly linking a monitor to a computer? Cheers in advance!
There are, but I've never seen them in action and they look pretty expensive: Wireless HDMI Extender I found this review of the IOGear GW3DHDKIT, which can be found on ebay for about £130. I'd imagine that there will be increased input lag doing this, plus while there is no wire between the computer and the monitor directly, you'll still need to run a cable to the box from each.
Perfect! Even seems to have a usb connection - I wonder... I'm not bothered about lag - it's for a little home cinema project I'm thinking about.
Can't a Chromecast do this? Edit: Hmmm experimental. Might be worth a shot if you've got one lying around or can borrow one to test. http://www.howtogeek.com/199565/mir...-computer-to-your-tv-using-google-chromecast/
Miracast/WiDi could be an option if your system supports it. The cheap dongles can apparently be pretty flaky, but this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-PTV3000-Push2TV-Wireless-Display/dp/B00D6DTX9M/ And the Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor (if you can get hold of one in this country) are both quite highly rated.
My father has the Netgear version hooked up to the main TV at my parents' house, and the Miracast/WiDi is decent, IMHO. A little lag, but then for TV/movies/photo viewing, it's good!
