Hi I recently purchased a AOC f22s but im unable to run any of my games at its highest resolution with the exeption of World in Conflict. The max resolution is 1980x1080 but i am only allowed to select up to 1600x1200. I have the screen running at 1920x1080 but i had to go into Nvidia control panel select change resolution then add resolution as it was only giving me 1600x1200. I have updated the driver from the disk and sent AOC an email but they havent responded yet. All help is welcome
Ah, the art of purchasing non-standard aspect ratios on the computers... common problem. What Windows are you running?
Warning, I don't know your GPU, so the follow may not be exact.. but the point is the same: In the Nvidia control panel, go to the "Change resolution" section. Click on "Add resolution" button, Then click on "Create Resolution", and add your screen solution by filling the form. Set the refresh rate to 60Hz. Click On test, to test it out, if it works, it will be added. Once added, go back to the main Nvidia panel, select your resolution
I have already done all that and that is what im running the now but when ever i try to play a game i can only select a maximum resolution of 1600x1200.
Create a screen resolution with 60.001Hz (see advance settings of the panel where yuo enter the custom resolution). It might actually do: 59.997Hz, which Windows rounds to 60Hz.. but your game is too stupid, and ONLY look at 60.00Hz and up resolutions.
Ok iv done that but i had to up the refresh rate to 61 as 60.001 gave me an error message, but still no luck when playing games.
Ok, unless I'm completely blind, I saw nVidia mentioned, but no reference to what card. So, what card exactly are you using?
Adding 1920x1080 to the list of supported resolutions only makes a difference if the game (or application for that matter) uses that list, which isn't necessarily the case. What you're doing when adding a custom resolution is essentially nothing more than telling the OS that you have a monitor which can handle this resolution. PortalBen is on the right track in that you may have to edit the config for the game/app in question to enable higher resolutions. Sometimes it can also be worthwhile to check for updates/patches as such functionality may have been added.
Ok, i have a few games running at 1920x1080 by changing the games config, the others i cant find but im workin on it. Thanks for all the help i was getting a bit annoyed with this problem its a bit of a hassel but at least my games are running at max resolution. Again thanks for all the help.
