I got to use Lightwave a while back and loved it, but don't have the $$ for it, so I guess I'd have to say Blender.

Cinema 4D is my fav, I've tried others, couldn't get used to 3DS but I'm not sure, I think C4D is causing random reboots...

Yeah the blur was actualy done afterwards in photoshop in an attempt to recreate depth of field, I did get a bid carried away with it though and overdid it. You can do DOF using brazil but the rendertime would have been quite a while as I was only using a XP1800 and 512MB 2100DDR, old skool.

Using DOF in 3ds max itself would give you a better result though, because it would blur using distances from the camera rather then a photoshop blur... but looks good...

Check out a little animation i rendered using vray for 3dsmax, vray has some pretty cool features for animations.. it only took about 3 and a half hours to render at 30fps on my a64 3200.

oh yea, its divx.. so unless you have divx or xvid codec it wont work

I didnt use the DOF in max as It was only version 4 which as far as I remember only had the scaline renderer and at the time brazil had just released the beta version so I just decided to have a mess on with that.
