He does sell the larger monitors too but the prices obviously go up. The 2410 is around £250 if you buy direct, perhaps a little cheaper on ebay, he has one on there now with two days left on it. Might be worth keeping an eye on. Not sure of the larger monitor prices as my wallet would just laugh at me if I started down that route.

Maybe keep your 28" and get a couple of 2209s for either side?

Maybe, although my Viewsonic 28 is on it's way out I'm afraid. It's started switching itself on when it's either in standby or just off alltogether, and there is no signal input (that's right, switching itself on. The first time it did it I freaked out.)

I had been hoping to get a 30" Dell and flank it with two 2410's or similar on either side, but as you've said, going into bigger monitors like that means big bucks. I'm going to keep an eye on the 2410 anyway, as it would make a nice second monitor for my office machine which has a 2210 on it at the moment. It sounds incredibly big headed, but I find that single monitor setup quite difficult to use for extended periods of time now. So much window switching and terrible over-use of the taskbar etc.

I agree, it is hard to go back from multiple monitors to one single monitor. It was my internship this summer that introduced me to the triple monitor set up, going back home to my 13.4 inch laptop screen was hell! My money saved to put my classic mini back on the road ended up being spent on a new computer and screen set up but it is money well spent as I'm getting really into 3D design now and you just cannot work efficiently on one small screen!

By the way, your 2210 has a TN panel. The 2209 has an excellent e-IPS panel that many regard as the best 22" panel you can buy, and being 2-3 years old now it is very reasonable second hand. The 2210 was built on a smaller budget and it shows. If you purchase a 2209 it will outclass your 2210 by some way, might end up on a slippery upgrade slope. Then again, if you are considering a 30" with two little 24"s for company, you're probably half way down a much steeper one ;)

You couldn't be more right :worried: :hehe:

Thanks for pointing that out RE: the 2210. I suppose a 2209 to sit beside the 2210 would make more sense than the 2410, but either way, given what you've pointed out about the 2210, the new monitor will become the primary anyway :)

Yeah, Dell didn't make the step down in quality very obvious. They will replace a 2209 with a 2211 if it fails within warranty - very disappointing for 2209 owners!

I actually got my U2410 for £100 delivered, perfect condition. I got lucky though, and had been looking ages, glad it paid off for me :)

He made love to it with a Dremel.

I stealthed the DVD drive. Works a charm, just press the lower right corner and it pops right out. Mine came with cable management holes that were suitable for my mobo, so no problems there. Vent in the floor for the PSU was there too and it has a ready-cut vent in the roof for a 140mm fan.

I am considering putting in a 140mm fan in the top when I get my CF 4850 setup. Might also buy one of the precut sound foam inserts for it. Should come in handy with a CF setup - it's bound to put out a little heat.

Ah, I used the actual Lian-Li optional accessory to stealth the DVD drive.

Haha, nope. I didn't do that. There's a project log coming up in the future about it, where all will be revealed ;)

Nope, that panel was removed and replaced, and I re-did those roof cuts and removed the dual grill from the equation for a sleeker look ;) :thumb:

We just moved in to our new apartment for school, nothing new from what I had back home just in a different place. We do however have way better bandwidth did we did.

Actually it's not... Low profile high output radiators come even smaller than that!
