Well folks I have been under the shadow of g-nome for a few weeks. (And his PC does rock) Many people didn't even notice the huge update with new mods: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?postid=401207#post401207 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- But I will soon need your help. I have entered the TechTV modding contest. http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/story/0,24330,3498856,00.html If I am selected as a finalist I hope that you will all vote for my PC in the contest. The prize is a $10,000 laser cutter. With it I could finish the Media PC in weeks, and also use it to help out the folks on bit-tech in their own projects. "The winning mod project will be decided by an online vote on the TSS website beginning Thursday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. Eastern, and ending on Friday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m. Eastern. " So put Sept 25th on your calander and visit http://www.techtv.com/screensavers to vote.
Zap, if you are going to help other people out by way of the prize then you definitly have my vote. That's pretty much the best thing modders can do is help each other out. You have my vote.
I think pretty much all the potential contestants who have a chance of winning said they'd happily use the machine to do little jobs for the community as soon as it was announced Remember now, it's only fair to vote for the project that deserves to win
*notices new mods* HOLY COW THOSE HEADPHONES ARE 1337!!! I'd love to build some like that for my setup, but I never lan so I don't need fancy headphones
Agreed - I just haven't seen a Mod I have liked as much as the Ammo PC. If, on the off chance, someone came up with something better, I'd vote for it ... As for whoever wins it doing things for the community ... maybe for a few of their close friends only (and quite rightly so -they will have won it (hopefully) off their own efforts). How many thousands of requests would the winner get? "can ya do this for me"..."can ya do that for me"...would drive them insane. An altruistic motive is all well and good (whether genuine or just to get votes) but I don't think the winner knows what they would be getting themselves into - could bite them in the backside when they end up having to start saying "no" a lot. Just my thoughts is all. Cheers
Thanks G-gnome. If I win I will for sure filter out the requests, and charge a little something I am so freaking nervous now, I have sent my packet over-night mail, and now I need to just wait.
man u got my vote that amo pc is just awsome i wish i had yours and g gnomes skills and patience did u ever get that chess board going ?
Definelt yovting for you... show those tech TV people what a good mod is... And don't let G-Gnome sign up because he's the only one who has the slightest chance of beating you... You the man zap! *ok, is the versa-laser booked on the night of october 17th at 9:00PM?*
You've got my vote as well. I think I may take you up on the offer of it's use. I'm close enough to you as to not need shipping or anything. I'll just pop on by one weekend and do some cutting. --<enter manaical laughter here>--
Well I wil look at the other entrants but I doubt they will sway my opinion that your mods are the best and you deserver to win. SO basicly you have my vote.
What was the page with the other contestants? I couldn't find the link, I want to see who Zap's up against *I can imagine it... Cheiftec with window, blowhole, and blue CCFL vs. Lan PC*
You have got my vote Oh and about the laser cutting well I was the person who posted about the contest first and all soo.... J/K LOL
I don't know who I will be competing against. In all reality there will be only four finalists. From the TechTV site:
