For reference. 2x 580s in SLI. 1.5GB versions. Stock speeds.

Did you do anything to stop the bug then?

Single 680 @ 1600p on max below, but normal tesselation. I'll now try the equivalent of Pookey's above however, because I'm coming off 580 SLI and I'm interested to see the gap.

I can't say I did anything to stop it. It just seems to be pot luck whether or not it affects your score. Although I will say that while other people seemed to struggle with this problem, my 580's would generally run Heaven hassle free.

20 to 28 FPS. pretty good performance gain! rep+ for the comparison.

Which? Mine? No idea... that's what I get with my 580s at stock speeds. I think it's comparable with others.

Well after some more BF3 1600p Ultra gaming on the same map (Caspian) VRam usage has shot up, no idea what was going on before but it peaked at 1988 this time and doesn't go much below that. Either way I don't think it will hold the performance back too much.

1988Mb is in line with the results I was getting on Caspian. I've played pretty much all the maps now and highest usage I have seen is 2.1GB on Noshar Canals (TDM 43 players).

Here's the same settings as Pookey's but a single 680 vs SLI 580s.

I'm guessing you're referring to my single 680 1600p results. It is just a benchmark and honestly doesn't mean all that much. 2560x1600 is twice the pixels of 1920x1080 so there's a lot of work being done. I'ts not all that indicative of normal gaming performance however - Heaven is purposely very tough on cards.

I don't think it will hold performance back to much in BF3, going by the other testing, that isn't an excessive amount of thrashing.

New titles are my concern. One 2GB 680 is probably fine for the power available. Two 2GB 680s' in SLI... different story.

wow, single 680 is around 80% of two 580 in Heaven benchmark, but it uses less than half electricity and run cooler.

    this is really tempting..........

I blame you for my loss of my sight. Threads such as these need to be labeled as PORN-TECH. :eeek:

Yeah, nice cards. Slight pity about the VRAM, but it doesnt' seem to be holding things back terribly. I did notice in some of the reviews, that the 680 was just a tiny fraction below the dual-GPU 590. Very nice.

Thanks for the rep BTW ;)

Yeh the Vram doesn't really seem to be a major issue. Though if you were to go above 2560x1600 then I expect you may run into difficulties. Also it has been rightly mentioned that future titles are only go to have increased Vram requirements.

On that basis (new titles), will you be getting liquid blocks for these cards?

Interesting I seem to remember one of my 580's could do just over 1000 points in heaven, maybe I won't upgrade... then again 3 680's is quite tempting :p
