The 3 main factors to rape you on car insurance are age, car risk group and address. I couldn't afford to insure my car if I lived in central Manchester anymore - it's just under £600 in a very safe rural area, rather than a high-risk postcode like M14.
If i sold my car and bought another how would my insurance be affected? could i just cancel the policy? excexc?
If it's <14 days you can cancel without penalty iirc, after that expect at least a month's premium as the cancellation fee, although it varies and will be outlined in your policy documents.
Call them and get a quote for a change of vehicle. If the new car is normally cheaper to insure you're insurance will stay the same. If the new one is more expensive, they'll pro-rata the increase over the remainder of your term. There's often an admin fee either way.
heh heh heh i pay 136 quid fully comp for me and the wife , rural area for a 306 estate after deposit i pay 9.66 a month and thats with my points for speeding
currently paying £2200 on a brand new VW Polo 1.2, first car 21 years old. its a lot of money but i figure i just need to suck it up for the first year and the price should tumble if i make it through my first year unscathed.
I forked out £1900 for 10 months insurance when I first started at 17 with a peugeot 106 1.1 but it was a scheme where you get a years no claims after the 10 months which was quite nice. Now that I almost have 2 yrs experience under my belt with no claims I will be insuring my significantly faster 1.6 C2 GT for about £900. You just have to weather the storm, it gets better quickly.
I had one of those, fun car. Mind you I bought it new so got a year's free insurance as part of the deal. Note: don't try and drive it between 100,000 and 150,000 miles without servicing it. Nothing good will come of that money saving scheme
I seen a corsa on the tv for 0% APR, for like £140 a month, think they only included a weeks worth of insurance though
